U.S. soldiers abuse an injerd dog in iraq

please take a good long look at this movie,I teared up when I saw this.

these soldiers are showen laughing and tossing rocks at this poor dog.the dog is in large mount of pain and alone to be
tounted by these men.

how inhumane is this?

this is one of the meny cruel things our men have been doing.

there is no excuse for this cruelty!

clearly you can hear them at the end saying "so should I shoot it?"

even if some of you are dog lovers or some of you are not,how evil and tactless is this abuse of a homeless and unloved dog?

Not sure why, but this video didn't bother me that much. I've seen kids in neighborhoods do much MUCH worse to local animals. There was some kid that made local news that set fire to a dog.

But keeping to subject. Beyond the rock throwing, I didn't see any other mistreatment, I think all they wanted to see was the dog walk. The guy asking the question "Should I shoot it" was probably the most humane in the bunch, this dog probably did not have an owner, probably had a multitude of parasites, only two usable legs, and was probably too feral to be in a human setting. Ending it's suffering was probably the best choice..... although I would have turned off the video camera for the whole fiasco... that was a bit tacky.

I'm not gonna watch the video because I don't like things like that floating around in my head, but animal cruelty is an issue that occurs across the globe by all sorts of men women and children.

The fact that they are soldiers has little relevance to me, except they are in a stressful situation and perhaps have detached themselves from feelings of compassion. How can they be hired killers without losing some compassion?

That's horrible. Seems like they would have something better & more productive to do than to throw rocks at a wounded animal for their jollies. I hope their commanding officers hear about it & do something. Torturing any living creature is just wrong & these guys should have more discipline & better judgement. Put it down if its bad off, but do it humanely.

Well said, I personally think a bullet to the head is probably the most humane way for anyone or any animal to go.

agreed,I personly would have rather shot it myself but every liveing thing has a right to live.

torturing that poor dog or any dog in that much pain is truely evil!

i think that if they had shot it they would have been doing it a favor...torturing the dog was bad...but they could have atleast stoped its pain.

i would have had an easier time watching that had it been a person being tortured.

as it is, i hope they end up coming home maimed and stumpy, or at the very least on the casualty list.

that's not an attack on them because they're soldiers - that's an attack on them because they're cockwads.

That is really sad. I just want to chime in here and say I do not feel this is representative of our millitary in general. In fact, Some of you know Smitty, and he had a story about he some soldier he was with finding a dog and adopting it. One of the officers took it home and a year or so later died of a heart attack while out running with the dog. Everyone seemed very grateful that the faithful companion was with the man when he passed on.

I must agree with Miz Kitty. This is not representative of the majority of our military.

Someone sent me an article about an Air Force Master Sargent that is taking care of a very young Iraqi girl who's whole family was killed by insurgents. She was shot in the head and lived. According to the article, she moans and cries often and he is the only one that can calm her and get her to sleep. So he spends his nights sleeping in a chair, holding this child so she can rest and recover.

This is the kind of story that needs to be posted and repeated, not just the stories about the bad behavior of a few.

I'd say attention should be given to both good & bad accounts. Praise the good & reprimand the bad, but don't sweep any of it under the carpet.

Outrage concerning unacceptable behavior of individual soldiers shouldn't be confused with animosity towards the troops in general or dismissal of all the good they do. We love our men & women at arms, but a bad apple shouldn't be tolerated in any bunch. Its disrespectful to the rest of their military group & Americans in general.

I'd like to see coverage about how bad situations are dealt with & fixed in military, governmental, & civilian matters.

I feel the same way about a person who can hurt an animal as I do about someone who can hurt a child. They are messed up in the head, get rid of them. That's just my opinion. Plus, how can we be "the great world protector "bestowing all that is good upon other nations as we see fit if we don't even have the ability to act with compassion to a poor injured dog.
