You guys got shafted....

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Or at least its claimed by this non-official myspace...

I think NIN should support Bauhaus...but...whatever...I may just get crazy and to see them to see Bauhaus a 3rd time, lol.

http://www.nin.com/current/index.html ill confirm that one for you

well theres no accounting for taste, but openers and headliners are dicated by whos selling.
NIN has moved more copies of single albums than bauhaus has sold in its career (go check and see how many times all of the NIN albums have went platnium. its scary.) and show no signs of slowing. the With Teeth tour is one of the hottest tours of the year. and last year.its selling massive, and with teeth is still seliing copies. love the band or hate them, the numbers are what its about.

as far as getting shafted goes, im glad i saw em with Saul williams instead.
a) im not a fan of the big B or anything peter has ever done.
b) Saul could use the exposure, the mans a fucking genious.

and Saul is just hella talented anyway. but i mean either band would be a good opener. now if we saw them with say... Kelly Clarkson and bauhaus joined the next show, id say we got shafted.

I'm not saying this saul guy isn't great, I'm just saying, wow, you could see living legends.

And yeah, damn those numbers. I guess I just consider bauhaus and its members music more vastly influential than NIN. But then again, I lost interest in NIN with the downward spiral, which I had on cassette tape..lol.

I guess I don't equate whats popular amongst the masses with what is truly good.

That's a broad general statement and does not take the factor of time into account.

Every band has their time, place, and level of exposure to work with. Bauhaus has passed their peak of popularity and it's someone else's turn.

Those who were to young to experience Bauhaus in their peak will not have the same appreciation - just as you do not share their appreciation. It is not a static world. Things keep moving and tastes continue to change.

Thaks for posting that. I had no idea that the boys were working up the crowds for Trent. I saw Bauhaus just last November in Atlanta and it was a fantastic show. The energy and song selection made it a wonderful night.

That being said, I'm not sure that that kind of energy would be present opening for someone I'm sure they (Peter at least) feel that they are vastly superior to.

I'll add my $.02 to that statement to make an even 4 pennies

Love & Rockets > Bauhaus
(The point here, for those not up on the Trivia of Bauhaus - Love & Rockets is the members of Bauhaus w/o Peter Murphey).

But, I would enjoy getting to see Bauhaus as well.

I've never been a huge fan of Love and Rockets, but a huge fan of bauhaus and Peter's solo stuff. He puts on a great live show. The two times I've seen bauhaus (and when I met Daniel Ash) he acted like the typical rockstar (he was swigging a bottle of something and asking for directions to an afterparty) or acting like he wanted to be Bono when he grew up. Peter however, was polite, asked me my name and gave me a hug..

<3 Peter.

oh and

stuff I scrub off my toilet > slipknot
