I was really disappointed with Haute tension, but I guess Alexandre Aja can't go too wrong with this one, so long as he bases it on Wes Craven's screenplay, with a few surprises here and there. Nothing too over the top like the "Tylor Durden" ending to Haute tension though.
I'm looking forward to it. The trailer looks promising.
I'll definitely go see it on opening weekend.
"tyler durden" that's a very nice example...w/ tyler i really didn't see that one coming...w/ alex and because of the hospital set-up and "is the camera rolling" i realized at the beginning ,that the story was being told from her side, and found out later it was a schizo's version at that(who knows what is real in the mind of someone like that, when they're all out to get me) ..
as you know i really like haute(and it's similarity to koontz's intensity...ahem) because of the brutality, suspense, the sound of nahon's shoes(hee, hee), and the gritty look of it all(plus i'm a slasher kid),all three guys(dir, producer, cinematographer)have been friends since kids and have a style that very nice to look at...from what i've heard hills is no exception, craven is very pleased and fango(whose opinion i take w/ a grain of salt)says it's incredible, the best remake ever done(not that that's saying much but i did enjoy cape fear, savini's noltld, and the thing)...they have a nice write-up about it in the newest issue...and i can't remember if they asked berryman or not,but they should've at least gave him a part...the new pluto is something else, the new family is a lot more "mutated"
btw freak i'll dub calvire over the weekend(just forgot about it),i'll let you know when i send it...
