Word is it may hit as high as $4 a gallon by this weekend.
I'm gonna have to quit smoking just to afford to go to work.

Katrina fucked everything up. And not to be too offensive, but I'm about tired of hearing people piss and moan about their gas prices, while families in NOLA and Mississippi can't even find water.
The gas shortage will be remedied, you will all have enough gas money to get to Sanctus, and families will be rebuilding their entire lives from scratch. I'm not bitching about gas prices... I actually feel spoiled right now.

karmakaze wrote:yes. we may be spoiled. and yes the people down south have it far worse then us. but that does not mean we do not have the right to bitch. if we were not fighting a stupid war over oil anyway we would have the funds, the resources, the manpower to help the people who need it, gas prices would not be as bad to begin with. If bush was not such a cunt, it would be much easier to handle the situation and people who need food, water, and medication would be able to get it.

so if we had all the equipment and manpower that is deployed in Iraq here you don't think it would help get food, water, and other supplies to places in miss. and Louisiana faster? there are people down there who still have not received any aid at all. some places have not even been reached yet. the fact that many of our resources can not be used to because they are all tied up in Iraq is not deniable. financially speaking, this would not be that big of a deal if bush had not put us so far into debt fighting a war that he has yet to justify. impeachment anyone? wait, nevermind, his replacement isn't any better. If things don't get up and running and back to normal (price-wise) in the next couple of weeks, yes, we need to start thinking and possibly bitching. I just think we should immediately worry about our neighbors and do everything we can to help. For some people, it's not within their means to give, even $5, to help our people. But I'm sorry if it bothers me to hear people worrying about how they will get to the club this weekend. Volunteer. I've been volunteering, and will continue to do so. Call the Red Cross, and if you don't have money, ask how you can help. Don't bitch about the problem if you aren't a part of the solution. Getting funds to NOLA will speed up the process in every way: people will be fed, evacuated, and in the near future begin to reconstruct, and our troops can turn their efforts to rebuilding the levees and getting our oil distribution up and running.
agreed. however, speaking of gas prices, the current trend is, they jack up the prices and then lower them a little bit but never back to as low as they were. if concern is not stated beforehand, corporations would try to milk out the price hike for as long as possible.I'm not in love with our government, either, but we have a responsibility as citizens. The responsibility does not rest solely in the hands of the current administration.
