The season's second war protest/peace rally will be held this Sunday, July 24, on the corner of Kingston Pike and Concord Street, one block east of the Tenn. Valley Unitarian Universalist church. The rally will have expanded hours this time --- from 9 AM until 1 PM, to take advantage of folks who want to come after church services (we had 4 or 5 congregations represented two weeks ago, and we were 40 strong!). Traffic in that area is heaviest between 12 and 2 PM, I think.
Make sure that your sign is appropriately large. Once again, we'll
spread out and cover all four corners of this very visible intersection.
Non-church members do NOT have permission to park in our lot, as it fills for the 11 AM service (says our TVUUC board of directors).
It is becoming more clear by the week that our troops are fighting a "fabricated war," a war of design, not necessity. We are fighting a nation that posed no threat to us, and did not make threatening acts or statements against us. Our aggressive actions are now accelerating terrorism in the West, a prestigious British report said this week.
Please copy this message of protest to friends, comrades, and other list serve groups.
Any Knoxgothic folks who can make it, it would be a great help! The more, the merrier.
