I give about 1/3 of a rat's ass. I saw the other ones in the theaters, but I hate crowds so I might just watch a copy of it whenvever I get around to it...

I mean, I loved 4,5,6 but so far the new one's haven't impressed me. Well, just Ewan McGregor..lol.

I'm enough of a G33K to give a rat's ass...But I'm not all up in arms about Episode III...I mean...I want to see it, & all...But I'm not one of those that went to see it the night it came out...Episodes I & II, wheren't that great as Star Wars flicks...But, they wheren't supposed to be...They where meant to be anti-climatic...All giving way to Episode III, & then the original trilogy...

It seams that more people are not as enthused about it now because of disappointment with the first two episodes.
Others never really had interest in it to begin with.
Me, I give a rats ass because was raised on star wars. It was a major part of my childhood.
When I was three years old the first toy I ever picked out at a store that I wanted was a Luke Skywalker X-Wing Pilot action figure. I still have that figure today.
I lived, breathed, slept, ate, and shit star wars. I had everything from star wars action figures to bed sheets to C3-POs breakfast cereal. It was all about marketing in the 80s and as a kid I was hooked.
I remember going to see Return of the Jedi in the theatre when it originally came out, and yes, I have been waiting 22 years of my life to finally see all this unfold.
And I'm not disappointed in the least.
Star Wars is the epic story of the battle between good and evil... Father and son... Rebellion and redemption. And I love it.

All that said, I guess you had to be a boy in the 80s and subjected to the mass marketing of the franchise to truly appreciate it.
And if that makes me a total dork so be it. At least I'm not a Trekkie :P

If you're illiterate.

Personally, I've always thought that episodes 4,5, and 6 were as gay as Top Gun. Except for the lightsabers - killing people with shinies is way cool.

But hey! LucasArts does tend to make moderately decent video games, both Star Wars related as well as with new themes.

fuck it all baby
zeo summed up what i tried to, deleted, and replaced with the word heretic.
star wars is (to me) one of the great stories of my lifetime.
i couldnt explain to people if i tried.
basicly i viewed it as since i didnt really have a father figure as a kid, i had vader. me and my brother have been obsessed with it our whole lives.
i always will be.
finally seeing the formation of darth vader, and seeing anakin is alot like the generation that grew up with the movies, was classic to me.

Episode 1 & 2 really disappointed me, but they were star wars movies, therefore they were essential. I always loved 4,5, & 6 when I was younger (maybe I had a small crush on Harrison Ford, and that didn't help), so it's natural for me to want to love these as well. I think that Episode 3 really makes up for what the first two definitely lacked. It had it's moments where the dialogue was lacking, the acting was lacking...but damnit, it was still fucking awesome. The characters became who they were supposed to be, and it really just made everything fall into place. The movie was bothersome, frightening, and entertaining all at once. I think that they made some bold moves in turning Anakin evil, but it worked. Whiney arrogant jedi turned evil sith lord, I dug it! I recommend checking it out.

Heh I was 7 and I still remember it, one of the few things of my childhood that I do remember. The line wrapped around the Fox theater in Bakersfield, CA. And there were Harvey cartoons before the movie, that rocked.

This is not an exhaustive list, as I have better things to do than look at my bookshelf:

The Coldfire Trilogy.
The Valdemar series.
Any of the many books involving Drizzt. (The Dark Elf Trilogy, Icewind Dale Trilogy, etc.)
The Lord of the Rings. (The books. Not the movies - heathens.)

Hell, even some that haven't been finished - The Sword of Truth saga, The Wheel of Time, Raymond Feist's series upon series.

Star Wars is OK, when it's not so immersed with itself as to almost lose grasp of the entire plotline. It's most certainly not the 'ultimate' good versus evil epic. Not even close. At best, it's a space opera, and should be left at that.

How is that a bold move? We all knew Anakin was going to be Vader, just not sure what turned hiim to the dark side.

I watched a copy at Thrall's the other night and I thought it was an excellent movie (which is different from a film mind you) and did all the things a good movie should, whereas the last 2 didn't so much.

I thought General Grievous was really cool and just seeing everything fall into place was awesome. Natalie Portman still got on my last nerve.

Well, yeah, we knew he was going to be Vader (hence why we even saw the movie). My point was a few references during the movie where he did some things that may have been taken alittle "too far, too soon". I.E. the Jedi Temple scene. I really did not want to go into detail about what I meant because I know some people have not seen it, I didn't want to ruin that. So I left my statement as such. Which is why it comes off incredibly "that's a given".

Aside from Natalie Portman delivering random cheesy love remarks, I think they did a great job actually making her look pregnant in this one. She had the glow, and her face looked wider. She just looked completely different. From that aspect of it, I think she was cast well...as far as her acting, I've always hated her in the Star Wars movies.
