An Open Letter To Tim Burton

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Well what exactly do you expect? I mean honestly...<knows thew shit this is about to start> WE all draw attention to ourselves by the way we dress and whatnots...I don't wear a see through skirt out to dinner with my parents...I wear something practical...Hence they should have probably done the same...You don't just get called a "goth" if there isn't some way they can classify you...and espicially if they went to the event dressed like they were going to a club...without an invite...I would have said no as well...its buisness people...That's all...That's how most of the real world works...its upon your first 30 second impression...Hence dress to impress...

Sorry this was spawned from a conversation had with the PunkrockJoe about goths getting pissed when people look at them weird in the mall/resturants and such...

Sorry, I must agree with Coor. You have to be flexible enough to dress for the occasion, which sometimes calls for toning it down or dressing it up a bit. I definitely don't agree with the call made by the promoter, but it happens.

Fortunately, the parties involved seem to be handling this in the right way. Appeal directly to the studio and Tim Burton. This should get them some sort of satisfaction and possibly recompense. And if it doesn't, call for a boycott of the film by goths everywhere!

I wouldn't say boycott the film.
Just another example of someone being a jerkass and selectively outcasting people by the way they dress.
It happens to all classes of society one way or another.
But yeah, that said, this was a private invite showing, so this
rubber slit had the right to select who he wanted to rule out from coming in to see the preview. Kudos to him!!! :D
As far as that goes, well, this being the 21st century and all
I think it's time we all went buck naked and stated going out in public if we wanna.

I have to agree, cause I'm one of them. I don't want to terrify animals and small children running around naked.

I read these last few posts, and can't help thinking to myself, "There are a few billion people in this world that I'd much prefer not seeing naked. The vast majority of KG are among them. "

But, um, if you want to swing your winkie (or your sauerkraut canal, for that matter) around at Walmart, I suppose that's your prerogative. Just be sure to get it on film, or preferably something digital. Be all that you can be: be an :iblislink:
