Valentine's Day History

Post by elasticwings »

Interesting look on the histories of Valentine's Day.

http://atheism.about.com/library/FAQs/r ... entine.htm

"In another ritual, women would submit their names to a common box and men would each draw one out. These two would be a couple for the duration of the festival (and at times for the entire following year). Both these rituals were designed to promote not only fertility, but also life generally."

God, if it were only that easy...

Well it is interesting in the abstract.
I don't think that it is really a hook up commitment. Perhaps it could be a way for people to socialize outside of their normal smaller circle or clique.
I thought of Sanctus as the masked ball will make people anonymous anyway, but then that would make it hard to pair people up.
It could work just as well at Temple.

Hey 4X541N7, will the box be a .30 cal ammo can?

heh
