Anti-Bush Rally

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

I live near oak town, but...hrm...whats the point? Protests are handy dandy, but he's not gonna be here is he, and even if he was, the "free speech area' would be like 20 miles from the assclown.

be there? why?

do all the rallys you want, it wont change shit

ive already adjusted my tactics to writing papers to be used in ethics lawsuits against his ballistic missile (REINCARINATE THE SDI!!!) bullshit.

instead of sitting around bitching, do something with that time
find organizations that need resources and gather them

just bitching changes nothing
point in case
of all the kerry supporting bush haters i knew last year, about 20% of us actually voted.
yes i voted.

Hey, I'm just getting the word out. If you want to bitch about useless protests go to the "Not a Damn Dime" thread.

Nice.
I encouraged you to post more about yours, but no, you just gotta take the cheap shot like all the other Activism Elitists...
Which is exactly why the Republicans keep gaining power.

People can (and often do) protest more than one way on an issue - it just makes good tactical sense.
'Course cohesion and mutual support is needed for real change, too.

(A good candidate or two wouldn't hurt.)[/i]

Oh, yeah, I have the rest of the info on the rally.

Sit-in for Peace
Thursday, Jan. 20th at the Friendship Bell at the oak Ridge Civic Center
4:00-????

So I guess it isn't a rally. Huh. Whatever.

By the way, if you do show up, try not to dress too outlandish. We don't want to scare anyone into being republican.

Then sorry but I won't be making that one. It is one thing to have a protest, it is a differant thing to expect me to sit-in wearing regular clothes. How the hell is anyone going to get arrested that way?

Okay, this is basically how i got the information.

I had heard many mumblings about a rally at the civvie during school, so my friend said, "hey, see if anyone on Knoxgoth will come". So I posted this thread. i posted the official info for the sit-in about 2 seconds after i was handed the actual flyer for the damn thing. Upon further review, the rumors i have heard sound much better than the actual thing. Had I known the rally was actually a lame ass sit in, i probably wouldn't have posted this thread.

So there.

New info: Actually, it turns out it would be best to dress kinda kooky. It may actually draw more attention. I only said not to because the organizer was kind of worried about it.

Also, the actual theme has finally been revealed to me: it is actually an Anti-war/ bush protest rally. so, yeah, im repeating myself.

Also, apparently there is some plan by a couple bad republicans (not republicans like judas, though. these ones suck.) to attack the protest with paintballs. It may just be a rumor right now though.

Dmn Merc....Go for it...A friend of mine once wore a shitload of pins including: "Iraq is Arabic for 'Vietnam"..."That's Ok, I wasn't using my civil liberties anyway"...& "Fuck War"....People gave him alot of shit until he started to wear a GI Jacket with his last name on the chest patch, & "My Brother Died for Your Greed" on the back in red....Sometimes it takes some shock therapy!

And imagine the publicity if they actualy came by with the TV crew and the Paintball guns! Especially after the announcement of no weapons found!

Hey...New idea:

I have a cargo van...Let's paint it OD Green...Put an Amerikan Fag on the side...& go around paintballing innocent people...! It's will be like a non-lethal version of the war in Iraq...Maybe if we mugged them afterwards...It would be almost identical...

Damn I would have to be working....
Otherwise I might have been tempted to bring the tippman snipper PaintBall gun, to return volley against any Bush-ites firing into the crowd.... Now that could be fun and make me feel like I had performed my civic duty ;)

I could stand to go throw some paint at some people anyway. Pro-Bush folk throwing paint at the innocent would be great targets.

However I can see the headlines now:
Paintball Fight breaks out at Anti-War Protest!

If we are going to do that we need to take a trip to DC.
