Sin City
Thanks so much for posting that link! I could not get the one from AICN to open. That...Was...Awesome. I have not been that rocked by a trailer since Kill Bill. I've never read any of Sin City, but have been a fan of Miller's since his run on DD and the Dark Knight Returns.
I love how they are making the film emulate his art style on this series. And what a fucking cast!!! This has become my most eagerly anticipated film. Please oh please let the soundtrack be as innovative as the design...

Release date is right around the corner, April Fool's Day. I saw the trailer when I saw Constantine. It looks amazing.
I really dig the visual style, how Rodriguez ripped it right out of the comic book.
What's really cool it that this is one of the first live action films to ever be shot on a completely digital backlot, with all the acting shot in front of a green screen and the backgrounds added during post-production. We'll be seeing more movies shot this way in the near future.
Rodriguez plans to film all of Miller's stories at some point.

We got some from our comic shop today!
Not sure if they have more or not....but we go to the one in Faragut...
They are for the 29th...I think radio stations have them too...and other places!

So...who else saw it tonight?
I reallllllly loved it.
Visually, it was so beautiful....
And, I was shocked that they actually put in the hardcore scenes!
It follows the comics soooo closely....
I can't think of anything bad to say about it...
And, I don't want to say too much...don't want to ruin anything for anyone...

Well, they stopped letting people in at about 5 folks in front of me. There was a HUGE crowd. Then, thank "Bob," this guy came out and said they had ten seats left up fron and ten in the rear, so they let the next 20 people in line in. Yes!!!
Abree is right on all accounts. Visually stunning, and violent, brutal and grapic as all hell. I had finally checked out some of the comics before seeing the movie and they did not miss a bit. Easily the best adaptation of a comic ever made. Everything about it was dead on.
I heard several teenie boppers (the fucks and the cinema did NOT card, which should piss off every adult who was left standing in line) say that the acting was bad or hammy. They've just never seen a noir or read the comics. Dialogue was supposed to be read that way, and was written that way for a purpose.
One last thing. Even though he was under about 30 pounds of makeup, Mickey Rourke kicked so much ass as Marv, I really could have dug a whole movie about just him. Everyone else was really cool too, but Marv...Whoah.

I hate going to the theater when teens are there. That just kills me. They aren't there to watch the movie. They just show up to hang out and chat with their teen friends. Because of them, I no longer go to movie events on opening weekend. I will probably go see it sometime next Monday or Tuesday at a late evening showing so hopefully the teens are at home for school the next day.

I will be honest I probley will wait for the dvd release to check this one out. But on the topic of teenies at the movies I swear to christ almighty if there are teenie boppers at the star wars movie talking and ruining the movie. I will comment an age related hate crime on some teens and I will show them the true meaning of the power of dark side.
Anyway I hope those who saw it enjoyed I just hate teenies at the movies.

I thought it was a very well made movie. It had a good flow to it, not like some movies that have a chopped up feel to them. Alot of action and I give it two thumbs up.
Visually appealling movie..and in some instances, ok a lot of instances amusing.
Other than that....
Yellow Bastard is a very nasty nasty nasty guy.
Elijah Wood is pretty creepy in his role...ok that's all the info i'm giving.
Benicio is always a good "Bad" guy.
Just go and watch it.
