I've been meaning to disconnect again, but with my Southpark and Daily Show addiction, it's hard.
So anyway, I'm flipping around last night and see a really nice looking girl. I thought "Huh, she's interesting looking to be on the telly...What's this show?" Turns out it was one of those makeover shows...Something like How Do I Look?
This girl was too cool for school. Ronald McDonald red hair, big buddy holly glasses, clunky boots, cool clothes and accessories. Why would she want a makeover? Then you see her sisters: skinny ugly skanks who idolize the Hilton sisters. Together with the bitch of a hostess and the cunt of a stylist, they convince this girl that she is a walking monstrosity in need of their "expertise."
What they did to her was shocking and deplorable. Her fiancé stated that if she had looked the way she did now 5 years ago, he never would have even spoken to her
Ouch.
What sticks in my craw is that this show is delivering the message that regardless of your lifestyle or look, you need to conform with this media perspective of what is good. Yeah, she volunteered for this makeover and did not seem as upset as her fiancé. But for 30 minutes I watched 4 skanks transform a beautiful and unique woman into one of them. It just made me sick and I had to vent.
