MMMMM....OTISSSSS
There is just something about him....dunno what it is.....
But, ....::sigh::: I find him so attractive. I'm just glad I'm not the only female out there with an Otis fetish....I've actually heard of others having "crushes" on him too.
I even have a crush on Bill Mosesly himself. Especially when he does the "Otis" voice, heheh. Yep, I'm sick and gross. Heh.
I reallllly can't wait for this movie. Especially after attending the panels at Dragoncon. It's gonna be awesome!

I watched the first one with a real big Rob Fan,and we were both very dissapointed.I hope the 2nd one(or could it be a third, because the first one played out like sequel)is better than the first. I'm not trying to ruffle feathers because i love flicks that are so bad they're good(i.e. Troma,H.G.,Rollin).But I think it's hard to be over the top when both victim and killers share the same stupid obnoxious traits that just are neither funny(bunny outfits?)or scary(jumping on a car?).Also Rob isn't Bunuel,Cocteau,or Jodorowsky so he should leave the avant garde and surreal cut scenes alone.Bill,Karen, and Bill(not exactly the Chop Top of old)are just old (c'mon each of us could drop anyone of them)and not menacing in any way.I met Gunnar yesterday and his character was menancing(Rob who borrowed heavily from Tobe should have used more of that).I did however like Haig's makeup and the zombie scene ,but don't get me started about baby doll(i know she's his girl, but yeesh).Just my opinion and like i said I am looking foward to seeing the 2nd one.
Sorry yet once again i let a response get away from me,should have just said nice music video, poor horror film. There's a reason why it took so long to get distribution. Try Tobe's new one instead, the Toolbox Murders(nothing like the first)it at least tries to build some suspense or tension, and it's by Hooper.

i'd rather be your enemy than hear you call me friend
Haute Tension DVD's have been out in Europe for a while(I have a region 0 copy)Shoot me an e-mail if anyone's interested(you can also find links to european DVD's at upcominghorror films .com,or HKfilms). It's a great slasher with a twist and could reinvent the genre,by far one of the better flicks on the festival circuit this year.Alexandre Aja,Brad Anderson, and Lucky McKee seem to be the future of horror(Takashi Miike is the now).I also have One Missed Call,Dead End,and the new Tobe Hooper's Toolbox Murders(by no means am I bragging I just like the barter system, hint hint). Those 3 along with Uninvited(not the old one),Shaun of the Dead,The Machinist ,New Blood,Evil Words and the Spiering brother's Undead are some of the best I've seen all year. Some others worth noting I caught in festivals this year are the throw back comedies Human Beeing and Skeleton of Cadavra(funny as hell). And I can't mention it enough check out a friend of mine's(he's from East Tennessee) last film at http://www.ghostoftheneedle.com/ I'm trying to get that freak a showing in Knoxville after he finishes up his 3rd film(Freezer was the first).Bury Me Tomorrow the closest thing I've seen in a while that resembles a giallo was done by a cool freak too, cheers.
Waiting on my copy of Haute Tension right now along with another Miike, Graveyard of Honor (Yakuza, not horror). I understand some of the problems people have with 1000 Corpses. The first half of the film is marvelous. Great characters, great setting. The problems start creeping into the second half of the film, when it gets to the point that Rob seems to just be throwing everything he can into the story without thinking too much about what has been previously filmed. The horror should have been left to the Firefly family, the legend or Dr Satan should have stayed just that. It made things less "Last House on the Left" and more "Child's Play."
I am looking forward to the second, especially if Rob sticks with the Pink Flamingos riffed plot, but I'm pretty sure that the story changes as he shoots it
Back to Haute Tension, I understand that it has its fair share of problems reaching a satisfying conclusion as well.
Another asian horror film I'm waiting on is called Three Extremes: 3 stories, one from Japan (Miike), one from Korea (Park, director of Old Boy - which is the mutha-fucking H Bomb) and one from China.
What did you think of One Missed Call? I liked it enough, but not one of Miike's best. It wasn't bad, I just don't see myself wanting to watch it again anytime soon.
I'm all for the barter system, maybe even some screening parties. It gets expensive ordering a lot of these movies as "blind buys."

Some of the people I showed Haute to loved it but didn't like the ending, but it didn't bother me at all. It's as strong a slasher film I've seen in years(I love the shot when the guy from I Stand Alone shows up and you're going to love the tile saw scene, plus i do believe every weapon imaginable is used in very nice ways). One Missed Call is not as strong as Audition,Ichi,or his t.v. stuff but I got a kick out of the live tv show(having worked in the indusrty it really hit home). The girl coming up the wall is somewhat creepy(Miike admits there are similarities to other Japanese films)and I love the guy so I'll watch his stuff anytime, anywhere even the yakuza stuff. The man is a filmmaking machine,I got Gozu not to long ago and I enjoy that as well.Visitor Q iand Happiness are killer as well, but you already probably now that.As for private screenings I am all for that,Ihope to have a digital projector soon and I've collected film for about 15 years. If it's weird, horrific,or just fucked up(all the way back to Les Vampires and Melies) I have it and have no problem sharing. We should try to set up a fucked up film night somewhere,we can't charge admission but after watching the Think Tanq try it I think it could work.Email me through this site or my website mehemfilms.com if you have some suggestions or want to trade, cheers
