11th St. / Victorian Houses Update

This is all to the best of my knowledge. Feel free to correct me if you're on the city council or similar.

- The properties in question, including 11th St., are NOT covered by the Historic overlay.
- The city is talking proposals now.
- Developers get first pick on buying, before the shop owners or other individuals.
- The PBA (Public Building Authority), which controls the Victorian Houses, is not answerable to either the city or the county although the city owns the buildings.
- No business owner in the properties has a rental contract/lease except McClain's. Other store owners may have signed a lease, but they are apparently invalid since they're not with the City of Knoxville proper.
- The Candy Factory may be sold.



RUMOR from fairly reliable sources: the KMA 's 99 year lease may not be honored. Remember. this last is a RUMOR.
