Here's a recent email I received and I'm wondering how many fools respond????
Oh, wait...it won't let me post it...big freaking surprise... they did it as a partial image....
basically it says,
go to this link and paste your atm/debit card number and pin number so we can verify your email address....
Now, I ask you...what would my card number have to do with my email account info?
Ibbie is backtracking for more details...

Well, as far as this particular case, I have the domain that they're attempting to send people to, and part of the URL.

They've used multiple character-encoding methods, though, so it'll take me a little while to pull out the entire website.

Because you don't have access to your e-mail address? Wouldn't you need said access to read the e-mail in the first place? And how on Earth would any of us think that an ATM card interacts with our e-mail address?

My brain hurts even TRYING to understand that "logic." I pity the people who come up with this scam. Jail time for something so pathetic is just sad....

Suggestion:

Try http://www.spamcop.net ... use this service to forward any spam e-mails you get, it will automatically descramble the headers for you, de-munge the websites, and even give you the means to complain to the ISP's and domain hosts where the stuff originated. I use this service and have found it VERY useful!

Also: Go to the Citibank website, http://www.citibank.com and report your fraudulent e-mail. This is a scam which has been going on for a LONG time, where people are spoofing Citibank. I had one of these recently, and it even popped open a popup window to the official Citibank site, in an attempt to make you think it's genuine.
