Where can i get cheap kickass clothes?

Post by B_Ko »

Okay, dressing wierd beats the living hell out of my paycheck, so i was wondering if there was anywhere that sold cheap kickass goth clothes. HELP ME. Websites are ok, but if anyone knows of any actual shops, it would rock my face so hard my head would explode.

Ok. to build an interesting wardrobe, you've got to spend a lot of one of two things- time or money. I'm guessing the goth clothes you're after can't be found new and cheap. Thus, hunt eBay. Hunt through Goodwill, Salvation Army, consignment shops, etc. Hunt through major department stores- there is almost always something interesting if you're willing to search, especially if you keep in mind that clothes can be re-dyed and altered a bit.
Don't listen to that guy! He's gonna lead you down the path of righteousness. I'm gonna lead you down the path that rocks!

Yup yup, listen to Imp, ebay and thrift stores. And I've also gotten quite a few cute things at Target, often on clearance.

Yesterday there was a yard sale across the street with alot of cute black stuff. Lots of velvet skirts and pants. But they were all much too small. :-( So perhaps yard sales, but they're not as dependable.

If you're crafty, try making your own clothes. Wal-mart usually has very cheap fabric. I'd love to do this, but I can't sew. I intend to take a sewing class though, and I'm really looking forward to it!

Good luck!

Go to thrift stores. They always have the best clothes. Just remember anything can be dyed if its a horrid color. You can also sew stuff on/cut stuff off to make it better.

Or you can just sew your own clothes...I need to teach you to do that maybe...
Its really not that hard after you get used to it :-)

I'm insanely jealous. The only lolita atire I've found that cheap was this really pretty black and white dress at a thrift store. It was PERFECT...only cost $7...and was a size SMALL (I wear medium). I cried. It was so sad.

Awww, that sucks ;_; They only had one EGL dress, and it was white with black ribbons and bows. It was extremely pretty, but it had a big stain on it in the back. (of who knows what XD)

The rest were blouses with ties and ruff-ly skirts and a bat hat,but yeah.

I love ruffly skirts! Every time I see one I have to stop and pet it. Even if its on a person. (so if some wierd girl walks up to you one day and starts petting one of your skirts...you will know why.)

Mmmm...I have no idea what "elegant gothic lolita" is, but I've heard of it. Probably from Kei. Is it just dark fluffy things?

Some of those are cute. Others kinda overdone, but that's just me. I'm more of a casual person is all. But I do have some ruffly socks from Target, lol. And yeah, they were bought for the reasons described in the quotes...

Also, consider travelling. Think about places with goth folks or other underground-culture folks who might be too fashion conscious for their own good. New Orleans. New York. Montreal. The list of course goes on. Road trips are a fabulous anthropological study too if you only ever stop at truck stops. Anyway, go to these places and find the best thrift stores there. Then you get cheap cool clothes, and a trip! The trip isn't always the cheapest ever, but try to include someone with connections for some floor space in the city you're travelling to.
