Looks like White Wolf is trying to remake their Vampire game. But I like the old one.

White Wolf's Vampire The Requiem
Hate finds fertile soil so easily. ~Diary of Dreams
White Wolf annouced over a year ago that the current world of darkness would be ending this year. They have already put out books for the three major venues detailing different ways that the world would end in canon. White Wolf said from the beginning that they would end the first run of the world of darkness, there is only so long that you can threaten the end of the world before you have to put up or shut up. They put up. The new rules are going to have a familiar feel to them but will be different, some clans are going to go, rumors I have heard these include Malkavian and Ravnos, also the sects are going to either go away or are going to be less powerful, no more Camarilla vs. Sabbat. IT should be very interesting. I am looking forward to september otr october when the new rules come out.
Space for rent.

From what I can see thisis just Vampire the 4th edition, change some names (slightly) call the same stuff a different name. Oh and just to make sure it comes off as being a different game lets charge an extra $20 for everthing. I use to enjoy reading the manuals to these games, they were nicely written and left lots of space for your oun imgination to run (the people I played with were only into combat) but at a point $30 was too much for a very short storie, $50!!!! oh well Im sure they will go on sale at Mckays eventually.

Well in the RPG world right now there are talks of or new versions of most every major system in the works.
Why you ask? Cause sales are down, Sales are down cause the major games have covered just about all there is to cover and they need to be made anew. WHile the economy is down the gaming world does well cause people stay at home and play games. Gaming has kinda come full circle, the games that were new 10 years ago or even five years ago are not popular so they are trying to get them to be popular again.
Also a lot of the companies that were big shit 5 years ago are gone. Ral Partha one of the best and largest mini suppliers went south and was bough up by FASA (Shadowrun, Battletech, Crimson Skies, Etc.) who later went bankrupt cause well they had too many popular products they were trying to support and had all their eggs in one basket, the Ral Partha buyout was good and bad. More bad cause it lead to the demise of the company.
West End Games (TORG, Star Wars, Paranoia) who had the origional Star Wars license went bankrupt due to mismanagement and CEO's who were dumb. They took the porfits from WEG and used them to bail out a shoe manufacturer who demolishied both companies.
BUT there is a new trend, one company or two have bought up a lot of the old licenses and have reissued the old product and are making new product now. Shadowrun is aviable under FanPro, as is Battletech. TORG is supposed to be coming back out. As are quite a few others. But due to Lucas Arts and their agreements don't hold your breath on a d6 version of Star Wars ever again. SLA Industries was republised about 3 years ago, War Hamster is being republised. Warhammer Fantasy Role Play is supposed to be coming back out next year, either republised or redone by WHite Dwarf.
White Wolf is doing pretty well with its D20 line of products.
D&D 3rd edition also raised the bar on gaming in general. Now EVERYONE wants full color books, BUT everyone hates to pay for them BUT a big game book (corebook or major supplement) in regular b&w pages won't sell well cause everyone else has full color stuff.
Yes the new books cost more but then again so does everything else. If you want to complain about the advancing storyline then don't. Play your old versions and don't worry about the new ones.

There is no replacement for displacement.
