Calamine lotion.
When you sleep put socks on your hands.
The Calamine lotion helps sooth the itch.
And basically just relax.
Never heard of old people getting chicken pox, knew it was possiblem but never seen it with my own eyes.
Tehehehe

Advice: GET YOUR ASS TO THE DOCTOR!
in children this is a mostly harmless event that lasts about a week and then goes away. in adults IT CAN KILL YOU.
i have had two friends who caught it as teenagers and both ended up in the hospital.

Shingles is, I believe, the chicken pox virus reappearing in someone who has already had chicken pox before. My son had them at about 4 months old, then a few years ago, had shingles...
Here is the Center For Disease Control's page on varicella.

I hate that saying: "You can't have your cake and eat it too."
Because what's the point of having cake when you aren't able to savour and enjoy every tastey morsel it has to offer you.....

Thank you for caring so much tomato but i will be fine.i am 19 so it shouldn't hit me to hard.
Yea, you are wrong on this, no offense. When the doctor found out that I was 17 and hadn't had the chicken pox, he sent my ass to get the shot, immediately. It's kinda odd, that you haven't been vaccinated yet, most will recommend it. Seriously though, it is highly likely that you will have serious complications with this. it's like only 12% of, adults or something like that, go through chicken pox wit no majopr complications.
Get to a doctor!

Wow you all are so nice for caring about my health so much.thanks
i have not had chicken pox before.my ex boyfriend had shingles and these don't look like what he had.these look like pencil eraser sized blisters all coming up in groups.my temperature has not gotten very high,i have been feeling alright other than wanting to scratch.
i really don't like going to doctors,so as long as i feel ok i'm gonna just rest at home and try what you all have suggested.

Adults who become infected with chickenpox are at increased risk for developing a specific type of pneumonia (varicella pneumonia).2 About 20 to 30 adults out of every 10,000 (0.2% to 0.3%) who develop varicella require hospitalization.2
When To Call a Doctor
Call your health professional immediately if you or your child with chickenpox develops:
A severe headache or constant vomiting, sensitivity to bright light, or unusual sleepiness or confusion. These may be signs of inflammation of the brain (encephalitis).
Problems breathing or persistent coughing. These may be signs of varicella pneumonia.
Red, warm, and sore skin or the chickenpox rash expands into bigger open sores. These may be signs of serious skin infection.
Call your health professional if you or your child with chickenpox has any of the following:
A fever over 102 °F(38.89 °C) that lasts longer than 2 days
Severe itching that cannot be relieved by home treatment
Chickenpox rash on the eyeball
A rash that lasts longer than 2 weeks
Teens, adults, pregnant women, and people with impaired immune systems always need to call a health professional if they have been in contact with someone who has chickenpox and are not sure if they have had chickenpox.
If you or your child has chickenpox, call your health professional before you go into the office. Don't just "drop in." You may spread chickenpox to other people waiting in the office.
Watchful Waiting
If you know that you or your child has been in contact with someone who has chickenpox, watch for the first symptoms of chickenpox (such as fever, feeling sick, decreased appetite, headache, cough, and sore throat). These symptoms usually appear between 14 to 16 days after contact with the infected person.
Home treatment is usually all that is needed for healthy children with chickenpox. Teens, adults, and people with impaired immune systems need to be seen by a health professional if they think they may have chickenpox. They need to start treatment as soon as possible to reduce the risk for complications of chickenpox.
Pregnant women need to be seen by a health professional if they have been exposed to chickenpox or think they have chickenpox. They are at risk for complications of chickenpox during pregnancy.
Who To See
The following health professionals can diagnose and treat chickenpox:
Family practitioner
Pediatrician
Nurse practitioner
Physician's assistant
You may be referred to a specialist if severe complications develop, such as a pulmonologist for lung problems. However, most healthy children and adults do not develop serious complications from chickenpox.

I don't care if you hate doctors. No one is really FOND of going to the doctor let's face it. HOWEVER... this is a very serious and DEADLY disease. If you found out you had cancer.. you'd go to the doctor. Same deal here. This could kill you, This WILL cause you serious trouble. Go to the doctor before I find out who you are.. where you live.. and come out there dragging you kicking and screaming by your hair.
May your dreams be the future you could have had, and your nightmares be the realization that you destroyed your chance to make it reality.
