Alien robots take over planet Earth.

Girl goes back in time to prevent alien robots taking over Earth.

Girl cons gunman into aiding her.

It's a rather basic plot, I assure you, though everyone who came by my place in May to watch it seemed to rather enjoy it.

The what? I mean, yeah, sure, the movie's in Japanese and all, but it's certainly not whatever fool language spawned that word.

Okay saw this this weekend

two warnings:

1 watch this when your in the right mood to. I saw it after a long day and was very tired, so that took some away.

2. Only watch this in Japanesse with english subs, (again I was tired and didnt want to go through the trouble of reading) the english over dub BLOWS (and not in the friendly way either). In Japanese it at least 20-30% better.

anyone notice one of the production companies was the one that use to release the old Godzilla movies?

I've heard a lot of bad things about this one. I may rent it though. For some reason I kept getting this confused with Versus, which is a very different kind of movie. I guess because both use Matrixy looking promo photos.

You're right. Those people are stupid. I rented this last night, and Thank you all for the recommendation. I really enjoyed this. Sure, there were some cheesey moments, and it did suffer from a few moments of "the audience is so stupid we had better reitterate this over and over in case they didn't get it the first time." Plot does borrow a lot from many sci fi staples, but all in all, it was fun, fresh, and did not suffer at all from the WTF aspect that seems to plague Japanese horror productions.
