i have puppies!!!!!

my chihuahua had 8 fucking puppies this morning. yes that is correct, 8. my 10 lb snoball, had 8 little squeely, squirmy babies. and there the size of mice

soooooooo cute 4 white, 4 brown, can't see the sexes yet, she will barely let me hold them.

anyways, the runt which i am calling malyka(swahili for angel) is not doing too well though, she won't nurse and she is soo small, i can hold her in the palm of my hand and close my fingers over her. shes that tiny. so everybody keep your fingers crossed for her, please. i would hate to see her die, i know its quite common, but it would still break my heart :cry:

so if anyone is interested in chihuahua puppies, let me know. i definitely have some to spare.

Will the puppy not nurse, or are the mom/other puppies preventing it? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but without that first bit of colostrum, the puppy probably won't make it. If mom is receptive, you could try to help the little one to a teat. I've had chihuahua's since I was three, and I couldn't be happier for you. My sister very recently lost three pomeranian pups, and is still sad, so I'll see if she's interested.

i've tried several times to get her to nurse by applying her directly to the nipple. and she is completely uninterested, she isn't moving around very much, and is pretty weak. i fear the worst, the vet said evn though she needs mom's milk that i can try nursing her myself with puppy formula and a bottle, but she will miss out on all the antibodies that mom has. if she does make it i think shes going to be sickly. vet said if she wasn't nursing by morning to call back. lets all hope and pray.

after feeding warmed milk and puppie formula thru a puppie bottle, we have puppie to teet contact!!!!! it worked... I think everything will be fine!!!!!thnaks fo rhte support guys!

well thanks to all for the hope, support, and advice. but malyka died tonight when i got home. i guess her little body just wasn't strong enough to fight. she was just so tiny and weak. i'm trying to think of it as for the better because she would have been sick and this is just nature's fucked up way of working things out. but it still upsets me, i was hoping she wuld be an exception. i just wish there was more i could have done for her. we are going to bury her in the garden with a marker that i am going to shape out of wire, prolly into a heart or something, with a tag that says malyka and her b day. :sniffles:

on a happier note, the other 7 puppies are thriving and doing great. i will be selling them, and 3 have already been claimed. prolly for about $50, that is low for chihuahuas, but they are not fuuuuuuuuull blooded. cricket, the daddy, is either 1/4 or 1/2 pomeranian. their mom is full blooded though, so that makes them like 75% chihuahua at the least, maybe 80 or 90%. warning though, if i don't know the person myself, i will require them to fill out an appl8ication. i am more concerned with them going to a good, loving home, than i ever could be about money. still interested, let me know.

I am sorry to hear that one died. If I can talk Mo into it...I would be very interested in one. I'll post again or she will if that is a yes.

snow white and the 7 dwarfs are doing great, in case anyone was curious. i am going to try to post a pic or 2 soon, prolly when their eyes open. they are soooooooo damn cute, though. i may do it sooner. they are squeely and whiney when they lose their way from the teats, and i think they are growing bigger by the second. only 3 days old, and no longer mice, more like hamsters and a couple gerbils.

5 lil girls, and 2 boys. the boys are fat, brown and have black masks and mohawks right now, will prolly fade with time though. 2 brown little girls, 2 creamybiege hefers, and 1 little solid white angel with a little pink nose and ears. i'm calling her lily and she so cute i can't deal with it. i think i'm going to keep her, she looks just like her mom, and malyka.
