Candy Factory friday nov 7th, saturday nov 8th

Post by Noritha »

Just wanted to invite everyone to my opening, this friday, in gallery 1010 at the candy factory.

I'm going to be showing photography, there are three others and I think they'll be showing photo and a bit of film/video.

The hours are 6-9pm, but then on Saturday, we are going to have additional hours for those who can't make it Friday. It'll be 6-9 also.

Hope some of you can come. :)

Cool.... I try to make it Saturday
Duct tape is like 'The Force'. It has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together.

Sounds interesting. What are your subjects or themes for you art? In other words what should one expect?

There are 4 of us, and 4 different styles.

George does very odd stuff. He has two films and a sound track to listen to, and several images. Some are pictures of projections he did onto different surfaces with mirrors and smoke. Really hard to describe but really interesting.

Angela has been doing close up work of flowers with 3200 speed film. They somehow have stopped being about flowers and have become about line, shape, and form.

Laura is more into photojournalism. She is the head photo editor at a local paper (nervous to mention where she works without her ok) but is also showing some amazing prints from her trip to Australia. And some really good photo journalism stuff.

My work is about human emotions. I've included several self portraits (which I hated to do, seems so vain...) that I shot with a large format camera. There's also a couple of images of a graveyard in the mountains, and pictures of friends that are less images of my friend and more about how I know them, and how I think.

It's four very different views. Should be interesting if for nothing else than comparison. :-)

Sorry I missed it. Hope you had a good turn out. Let us know if we get any other chances in the future to check out your work.

we had a great turn out friday, but next to nothing yesterday. That was fine though, I was exausted. Thinking about during take down today walkling to 11th street and seeing if I can hang anything there sometime soon. If so I won't unframe.

I'm going to go document the show today, and then I'll post pictures somewhere. We had one of the best shows there in a long time. About 85 prints and three films.

Don't worry. If I have another show I'll let everyone know. :)

And this fall when the phoenix comes out I'll have something in there.
