And For The Record, If You Must Self-Publish

Post by keltora »

If you are serious about self-publishing, read this article. It helps potential self-publishers to weigh the pros and cons of doing so, and tells the right reasons and the wrong reasons for doing it...

Also, if you are looking for a place to publish for nothing, CafePress.com offers publishing now. You have to set the book up in one of the formats they recommend, and you have to do all your own editorial work--and I cannot stress enough how this is a good time to talk to someone who copy edits as a sideline. Or find a goof friend with a keep eye for typos--find several friends, because sometimes, even two pairs of eyes are not enough.. :oneeye: :oneeye: :oneeye: :oneeye:

The downside of CafePress is that you have to create a "bookstore" through them, and if you want copies of your book, you have to pay the base printing cost.

The upside is it saves you from the embarrassment of having a garage full of books that won't sell. ;)
