A Bit 'O' News

Post by keltora »

Have learned that the official release date for MAGIC'S SONG in print is October 2003.

And....

Drumroll...

I just found out that I sold a story titled "Brunhilde's Bra" to Esther Friesner for the next CHICKS anthology! :D

The next anthology is titled TURN THE OTHER CHICK and is due from Baen probably next year. This is a big step for me because it is a market I have been trying to break into (it's invitation only) for a long time.

Needless to say, I am veddy, veddy happy... :boing:

MAGIC'S SONG: TALES OF THE HARPER MAGE

From the back:

"He is Anwyn Baldomyre, the Harper Mage, gifted from birth with a golden voice, silver eyes and a skill for songs. But he is also the heir to magical powers that he would prefer to deny. Guided by his mentor, the great mage Rhyster of Far Reach, and accompanied by Glynnanis, the harp whose living wood houses the soul of the last unicorn, Anwyn travels through a world that forever puts all his talent to the test...."

His is a collection of 7 new and 9 reprint stories I had in such magazines as MARION ZIMMER BRADLEY'S FANTASY MAGAZINE and ADVENTURES OF SWORD AND SORCERY.

"Brunhilde's Bra" is one of those, "You get what you pay for" stories about a woman warrior who buys Brunhilde's Breastplate from an unscrupulous dwarf...and that's just the beginning of her troubles.. The Chicks in Chainmail series had stories about women who kick butt. TURN THE OTHER CHICK is the fifth one in the series, I think (CHICKS IN CHAINMAIL, THE CHICK IS IN THE MAIL...can't remember the other two) The stories are full of humor of the type inspired by Esther Friesner whose stories have appeared in FANTASY & SCIENCE FICTION and many other magazines.

Thanks for asking... :)
