I *love* Dave Mckean. He's had a very big influence on my work as of late. Another good site for his work is http://www.mckean-art.co.uk/.

If you like his stuff, you may also find these interesting:

The firemen came and broke through the chimney top. And me and Mom were expecting them to pull out a dead cat or a bird. And instead they pulled out my father. He was dressed in a Santa Claus suit. He'd been climbing down the chimney... his arms loaded with presents. He was gonna surprise us. He slipped and broke his neck. He died instantly. And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus.

Great links Vertigo25:

You've cursed me as I need to get back to work.

I don't know why I haven't been hanging out here all along I can rarely get converstions started about especially an artist I love.

Do you know anything about Mr Mckean does he hire apprentices, not that my porfolio is good enough at the moment but I would love to study with him.

I doubt he hires apprenticies... but... there is someone on this board who happens to friendly with someone he has worked very closely with. I'm not dropping any names, though....
