Would one of you mosaicin' muthas be willing to give us a rundown of supplies need and basic method? I want to make some stepping stones for my garden, yet I don't want to buy concrete marketed towards mosaic (thus expensive)...and spending 4 bucks for a tiny bag of broken glass just really...irks me. And what the hey is grout for? Can't you just throw some glass or tile in a mold, pour in concrete and be done with it?
Yes, I know what google is...just thought some of you might like to share your experiences and techniques.

Concrete tends to make the glass not look quite as pretty. Grout tends to work much better. ;o)
I like to get those big bags of glass fishtank stones that come in neat colors. They are usually only about a dollar or so a bag. Much more cost efficent. As for the stones themselves.. start with your concrete and let it harden in the shape you want, then add the stones on top and grout them into place.

May your dreams be the future you could have had, and your nightmares be the realization that you destroyed your chance to make it reality.
