American McGee's "Alice" Movie

The long-in-development movie adaptation of American McGee's Alice is finally moving forward with none other than Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar in the lead role. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Universal Pictures has just signed Gellar to topline their big-screen take on the hit EA videogame â€“ a gothic-horror version of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.

Marcus Nispel, helmer of the recent redo of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, will reportedly direct the film.

jessica simpson as daisy duke

why not
the role is eyecandy

don't get me wrong i don't really like jessica simpson
but she is attractive
and that's what daisy duke is supposed to do
be attractive

casting willie nelson as uncle jessie is pretty fucking rad if you ask me

Showing my true southern roots, the Dukes of Hazzard was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I could care less who plays Daisy, she's just T and A really...

Willie Nelson!! KICK ASS!!

Oh, and as for Alice, I guess with dark hair maybe she can pull it off. It'd be better with maybe Christina Ricci or someone similar.

I would think that this would be the LAST role she would ever want....the concept is too close to her role as Buffy and I thought she was trying to go beyond that.....though from the stuff I have seen she her in of late she is not getting there (i.e. "The Grudge"....I will not speak of the "dog" movies) So perhaps she likes to play those roles.....who can say?

For instance....how many things have you seen staring Leonard Nimoy......after Star Trek and Spock...he was DOOMED.

In my august opinion (blah blah woof woof...) marketing people however are not only evil....but stupid. From their point of view, if one thing is a hit in that genre with her as a specific character....then EVERYTHING should be.....and off they go. To suck the life out of any genre that they perceive as "cool"...and cheapen all that has come before through endless repetitions.....like "Law and Order - Animal Control Unit "....and "CSI - Topeka, Kansas".

Comic book movies are "cool" right now....but for every good one...how many bad ones have there been? Usually because the Marketing People are in control of those making them all image and no substance.....because that is all the undersand.

Ok...I am going to take my medications with some alcohol and go pass out for a while.
