Everyday for me is a not one damn dime day. The reality of the situation is...yes even some people that oppose the capitalist system will go buy their goods the day before like idiots.

The U.S. Government spent 235 billion dollars for weapons and troops goods and such...only a measly 350 million for disaster relief after the tsunami...235 billion to kill...350 million to save.

Also, alot of so called "charities" pocket money.

Just like goodwill still has a donation dumpster but is no longer a non-profit organization.

Did you know that 2 weeks of the Military Budget would feed everyone in the world for a whole year? I guess that just goes to show how much the U.S. Government really cares.

Do you think that if the government, or any government, spent all that money on food for the world and tried to distribute it, that they'd get it? I mean, they can't just go fill up a few million kroger carts and drop it off, and they can't just give the people money. The only way you can really feed other nations is to channel money into their governments, and this has been proven again and again over time that the leaders of most governments don't use that money for their people. Pretty much every major national disaster to occur in Asia that receives massive donations never uses the aid money to deal with the damages. The only way to override that is to ignore, defeat, or defy those governments, any of which would instigate war.

As far as a lot of charity companies go, you're right, a lot of them are crooked. United Way in particular. If you want something done you've got to do it yourself, if you want to make a real difference, you have go over there and get your hands dirty.

speaking of united way, I use to work for this one company who supported untied way and would give us papers to fill out for each employee saying that we had to donate money, either by taking some dollars out of our paychecks EVERY week for a whole year, or a five dollar donation.... there was no where on the form that said, "i don't want to pledge any money"

talk about being jipped.... thank god that business is going downhill fast.

Charity starts with you. Never leave it to a company to do anything but soak up resorces. Some charities are fine. I like to help when I can, but I always like to make sure that I know where and to what the resorces are going.

As a borderline anarchist I look at it like this, only if the grid goes down will it happen, for about a week. Then we will have something called the dictatorship of the prolatariate, which basicly means who ever has the resorces has the power. And that is why I want to move out to the middle of the woods and kill my own food.

there is also some squats in knoxville. there use to be a pirate radio station in knoxville where one of the squats was located. however, the police raided that one out about a month ago i think.

and did you know that there is a commune in crosby tn? they welcome almost anyone. it is a big farmhouse ... they have no electricity thou... but i think they have running water. i would love to go myself. just to have the experience and learn about that type of system......

It isn't a farm house. It is a collection of houses. They do have power and running water. That is where Frost and I got married last May.

Actually there's quite a lot of speculation about the electronic voting machines. Back in the day..when it was done with paper...workers equivilent to the importance of post office workers would count and talley the votes.....now it goes directly to rich old men sitting behind locked doors where they can " count" as they please.

I trust the middle class more than party leaders and the such.
