RIP Dimebag Darrell...it deserves repeating...

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

RIP Dimebag Darrell...it deserves repeating...

Post by abreeskye »

Just thought since the last thread disappeared....

Props to JC for posting it earlier....

Today is a sad day....

It was finally confirmed for sure earlier today that Vinnie is ok.

I read about the nurse chick that tried to give dimebag cpr....so fucking sad. The way she said vinnie jumped up from behind the drums, the way he looked at dimebag....so sad. To read her words...that she and another fan tried their best to keep him alive, that she saw blood everywhere, and begged him to stay with her... man, that's some heavy shit.

I just can't imagine the shock that vinnie is in...seeing his brother murdered in front of him like that.

I wonder what this is going to do to the music world...

My thoughts go out to all the victim's families...

It's nice to read the outpouring of support from other musicians in the metal community....having such kind things to say about dimebag.

It was also very cool of what all Hank III said....

I also feel very bad for phil...the guilt he must be going through...

This shit is just depressing. All day yesterday when I was trying to get information from CNN at work they kept saying that there was a shooting at a club in ohio 5 killed. They never mentioned Dimebag, Damdge plan, or anything linking him to that night. It is strange to me that if he was a former backstreet boy the reception of this news would be huge. No, he was a guitar player for a metal band. I wonder how many non-internet Dimebag fans know about this. Why do I feel ill?

I saw this on cnn this morning. They did finally get around to mentioning that he was in Pantera.

It just pisses me off.

I'm still in shock and upset over this.

Last night, former Iron Maiden singer Paul Dianno was attacked onstage by an insane fan. I hope this is an isolated incident, and not a signal for all the fucking crazies to start attacking people onstage.

And, I guess it wasn't their security afterall. Now that they've released more information.....it seems that it couldn't be helped.

The guy was trying to get Dimebag and Vinnie to come out back before the show....roadies and the like had to keep telling him to go away. That isn't really something that would alarm anyone thought. People do that shit all the time....wanting to meet their heroes and shit.

The guy kept trying to get in without a ticket. And, when the band started.....just jumped an 8 foot fence and ran towards the stage. The employees, and bouncers thought he was just trying to get in for free, and that is why they were after him. Apparently he didn't pull out the gun until he was right in front of dime. And, if their security didn't think fast, vinnie would be dead too.

The claims that the guy was screaming about dime breaking up Pantera were false. Noone could have heard anything the guy said.

The guy was fucking crazy. He was obsessed with Pantera for years. He tried to pass off some Pantera lyrics as his own to his friends before, and saidhe was going to sue Pantera for stealing his identity. What a fucking nutjob!

I honestly believe that if it had been superjoint ritual playing there, phil would be the one dead now.

Speaking of Phil, I wish people would get off of him already. The guy is in pain! Dimebag was like his brother! They BOTH said alot of shit in the media. And, what phil said last week has been waaaay overhyped. It was a fucking coincindence that this fucker killed dimebag. People just jumped to conclusions and assumed he was a phil fan, acting on what phil said last week. He was just a fucking crazy nutjob. And, Phil did NOT say he wanted his fans to kill dimebag. I wish I could tell all these people that go around saying this to reread the fucking interview!!

And, it was good to at least hear a little something from Phil today. The guy that runs the pantera and down websites released a statement today, and has talked to phil in the last couple of days. (it's all over the internet now...you can read it on blabbermouth) Phil wanted him to make sure that he said that Dimebag was his brother, and the best of the best. Phil IS devastated. He would never want this to happen! Pantera would have more than likely reunited in a couple of years! I fucking hate the media sometimes. Always wanting to get those sensational stories!

I just get so frustrated with people wanting to be so quick to blame phil. I guess being a cancerian makes me over sensitive to other peoples feelings or something. But, I feel so bad for the guy right now. He never made up with one of his best friends ever before he was killed. He's going to have to live with the things he said for the rest of his life. It's sad.

I heard on 94.3 that they'll be replaying some show or another they have with him - I think at 10 pm.

Our band was having rehearsal at the studio when we heard what happened. Of course it was a frantic call from my mother of "You don't play THAT kind of music do you?" And I continued to lie and said "No!", but we all were completely shocked. And OF COURSE all CNN and Fox could talk about was foreign politics etc. and not one word about what really happened. Figures...I am so sick of this country... We all feel it is a damn shame needless to say and really, security at the shows are non-existant. We all went to the Sevendust show in Jacksonville a couple of weeks ago and there was hardly ANY security...unless you count a few in the pit when the idiots got out of hand. They didn't check bags or us or anything. Our bass player even brough in a backpack and they didn't even check that. Pretty strange when you consider that at Universal Studios they frisk everything on you...like they did for the Halloween Horror nights.

Clubs are cheap and that is the truth. It is scary to think that ANYONE can get up on stage and do whatever if they are driven enough to do so.
Lessons learned...never piss anyone off and Lesson two...people in the world are just wacked...so buy a helmet and pray.

Dimebag was probably one of the most amazing and talented musicians in the business and there will never be one like him again.
(And I am not even a big Pantera fan)

Peace...
:)
