Rock Against Bush vol. 2

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Punk against Bush? I'm not a punk rocker myself, but I am thrilled they are doing it!

How about a "synthpop and EBM against Bush" comp? ;) I'd be on it in a heartbeat.

Rush helps me form my views and ideas.Like today Rush talked about how Kerry lied about stuff that happend over in nam just to get some metals.Kerry is as big a liar if not bigger than Bush,as far as bands that support Bush i find that not a whole lot do cause most are of course playing rock music and and the republican party is basically filled with a bunch of old men.But its comfy in the republican party so i think i will stay here.
And on a funny note goto http://www.fthevote.com but its an adult link so put the kids to bed before checking it out

Just because I hate G.W.Bush doesn't necessarily mean that I love Kerry. But I'm a Democrat and who else am I supposed to vote for? If I vote for an independant, it's just going to be a wasted vote and I want that idiot out of the white house!

judas gnb, are you serious?! Rush?! Why not get your ideas from a toaster oven?

That guy's just a blow hard. Would you be happy if the liberals in here listened to Michael Moore only to get their ideas? Expose yourself to some ideas that challenge your own thinking instead of just listening to someone who strokes your ego telling you what you want to hear.

Or try reading the news and thinking for yourself. That always worked for me.

So Kerry lied to in order to get his medals according to Rush, huh? As I said - do your own research. Snopes urban legend and general bullshit page says... FALSE.

:lol: You've got some company, just not a whole lot on this list. I work with 2 Republicans and 1 staunch Democrat. Honestly, I can discuss politics much easier with the Republicans. People are just so polarized on things that every statement, made by a Republican or Democrat, seems to be in the form of an attack.
"You're lying."
"No. You're lying."

I'm pretty darn anti-bush, and I throw attacks out against his administration fairly often, but even I am hesitant to take any accusation on either side as truth. Everyone has an agenda, everyone has a bias. No one is going to change my opinion that the best thing we can do for this country right now is to get the current administration out of power. Do I think that the new administration will make all of the changes that I deem necessary? No, but that would take an awful lot of change that most people would not be comfortable with.

I really think that things have come down to opinions - how you view the world, the direction you see things moving in. You like it and agree with it or you don't. I think we're on a very bad downward slide right now. We can pull up or ride the express elevator to hell for all its worth!

Well, being in the minority/majority surely means you are correct/incorrect.

Suggestion: argue from facts, not your martyr status. People might take you seriously.

Bill O Reilly of all people has a take on the swift boat veterns.

http://www.billoreilly.com/currentarticle

From what information I gather the Swift Boat Veterns book has large gaps of logic holes in it. Plus it's funded by a few Rupublicans. Here's a link to some analysis on the comercial.

And be nice to Judas, he may be a conservative but he's our conservative. Nice guy too.

Just a call to keep things civil. With politics I know it's difficult but just a call out.

Though Judas, my dear "brother" Judas, knows that I don't agree with his politics as I am anti-bush, he firmly believes in his politics. He's not the fool he plays himself to be, he can be pretty smart and surprise you too. Just don't want anything thinking he really is a fool. It is true, we all have the right to believe how we want to believe, it's what makes this country great. I can say how much I hate this place at times while standing next to someone waving the flag if I want to.

Oh, and Judas isn't just standing up for Bush to be a martyr either...he genuinely likes the guy and stands up for people he believes in.

That's actually something I think we all should do.

Don't go out of your way to look a fool. I actually want you to be taken seriously and for your arguments to be taken seriously. Besides, don't we humans look foolish enough as things stand?

I'm trying to get at the issue involved so I can be better informed. "Rush said it." "My opinion is underrepresented, and this argument is lopsided because I'm the only pro-Bush person." and "I'm a patriot sticking up for my president." don't help me. What vets said Kerry lied? Where are they quoted? What factual holes are there in what Kerry has said?

Don't bemoan your lack of an intellectual "team mate." Respect the other members of the board to assume they'll be open minded and listen to a well constructed argument backed up by facts. Stick up for yourself, and give us something to think about. It's all the more important that your opinion be taken seriously if you're a dissenting voice.

Thanks for the links, Celestial. Those definitely are something to think about.

people that didnt even serve with him said he lied
note his enitre unit was with him supporting him during his acceptance bid.
his superiors complained he was hard to control because if there were troops on the battlefield he wouldnt leave

wheres ol bush's service record again???? yea. try to answer it. i dare you. incriminate yourself into the dirt on that.

i find it funny when people say that Kerry supporters are hyper.
WE ARE THAT PISSED AT BUSH

and since when did the media become a tool to help you form an opinion? fuck rush
turn your fucking radio off
turn your fucking tv off
listen to the facts, then tell the media to fuck off, sit at home, and make your own fucking ideas.

Kerry lied to get his medals? Big deal ...

At least he SERVED in probably the worst war in our country's history. He went through hell and stared death in the face.

Meanwhile, George W. used Daddy's influence to get him off the hook for going to war, and constantly no-showed for his stints in the National Guard.

I know some people may say I am biased, but the fact is, even people in Bush's party (for example, John McCain) are saying that the Swift Boat ads are going too far.

On a related topic, here's a couple of links:

http://www.moveon.org/pac/news/false-ad.html
http://www.moveon.org/pac/news/swiftresponse.html

MoveOn.org has been running a campaign to get people to sign on to a petition urging Bush to condemn the Swift Boat ads. They are also raising money to run an ad in the places where the Swift Boat ads ran, to counter these attacks and call into question Bush's own service.

Those of you who are really upset about this issue may want to check these two links out and do what you can.

Judas, you know I'm your friend, so I really don't want you to feel picked on. Please don't take a political debate as a personal attack on you-because it's not.

But if you haven't noticed, most of the people that have posted on this thread have posted links to back up what they are saying. Obviously, the anti-Bush people are going out of their way to figure out what the truth is. If you have pro-Bush links you'd like to post to back up what you believe, then why don't you post them?

To judasgnb:

That's fine. :) No worries. It's the USA after all, not Iraq or Cuba or the Soviet Union. We should all feel free to express our opinions without fear of censure or reprisal. Wasn't that what's supposed to be written into our founding document? At least you're being honest.

I personally think Bush is a slimebag, but ... not everyone's gonna agree with me. As Thomas Jefferson once said, I might not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

judas, I hope I didn't come across as picking on you. I can be pretty straight and blunt and I don't sometimes see that it might come across as rude or disrespectful.

The main frustration for me in here was the "yes he lied" "no he didn't lie" argument.

Or, for you coders out there...

public void argument(Person[] arguers, Person delphi_ote) {
while(true) {
arguers[proBush].say("He did!");
arguers[antiBush].say("He did not!");
delphi_ote.sanity--;
}
}
