There are alot of talentless "musicians" out there who make tons of money. There is a difference between a good song and good marketing. The kind of mentality you are displaying toward music is one of the big reasons why music is going down the toilet.

Yeah, I've never agreed with the "well, they're making more money than you" argument in a music discussion. A talentless hack with a good advertising agency and money is still a talentless hack.
I'd be a rich musician too if I had the capital to float an advertising agency. Though about the only thing I could come up with right now would be some kazoo work (only instrument I have left unfortunately).
But seriously, the whole money argument has always struck me as the "I know you're right, but I'm going to pull something incredibly stupid and pointless out of my cakehole because I don't want to lose, even though I understand that the majority is not always right." statement.
