Satanism

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

I don't think that I have ever truely worshiped anything except myself and my life.I have declared myself many religions over the course of my life so far. And I must say I never truely believed any of it. Oh well,I am still pondering this religion concept. If I ever figure it out I'll post here again.

As far as morals go...I do what I feel is right at the time. If it feels wrong I try to hit the brakes. And it must have done me some good since I have yet to end a human life, have only slept with a enough girls to add on one pair of hands, stopped trying to kill myself, and got married to the woman I love. :D
Yes, I have wished you were dead. You are just another face in the crowd, someone who brings me suffering, someone I truely hate.

Several short books actually, all of which are much more interesting and thought provoking than the satanic bible. Not that anything he brings up is that much more deep (or occasionally stupid) than what 4 or 5 guys would come up with in a late night bong circle...But I digress. When you put aside the mumbo jumbo, and just look at the philisophical points, lavey satanism makes a lot of sense, assuming that you consider yourself priority number 1.

I have never known anyone who "practiced" satanism as a religion though - spells, ceremonies and the like. Which is why I get so up in arms every time I hear the "Satanic Cult" war cry of the religious right. The only cases of satanic sacrifice that I know of, and I am a true crime / serial killer nut, are the murder of a college student in Matmos Mexico by a drug syndicate, the loco individuals like Richard Ramirez and David Berkowitz, and high school kooks like Ricky Kasso. I know of no proven cases involving organized satanic cults. There is one religious cult however, very widepread, that commonly practices pedophilism. Oddly enough, they are pretty widely accepted. Go figure.

How many people have been killed in the name of God...

How many people have been killed in the name of Satan...

Worshipping Satan is wrong.

If there is such a being. Its a make-believe character created by the Christians to strike fear into people. And a LOT of people have been killed in the name of God. (one word...crusades). If there is such a being. Not saying there isn't, but does anyone REALLY know? What IS the truth? I think this be a question for the the all knowing Junkie! If people worship Satan that is their business, if people worship God/Goddess that is their business, if people worship nature, that their business, if people believe their going to be picked up by a comet after laceing their Nikes & drinking spiked Kool-Aid, that too is their business. Who are we to say they are wrong? Maybe we're all right. Who knows? Why take it seriously? It's just something for people to believe in so they don't feel alone in the universe. Hell is a place you create.

ok ... Im just making one. Not attacking what you said or anything, just adding to the discussion. It's getting pretty ineresting. ;) I can talk about it all night with like-minded people, but if it turns into an argument count me out. Everyone has a point.

The first link has too many flaws for me to really digest it. One of them is that they called druidism a "neo-pagan" religion. I don't imagine that the Gauls were neo-anything, chronologically speaking. But maybe they've another definition of druidism. Probably got it out of a Dungeons and Dragons handbook.

Or maybe I'm just crotchety today. ;)

Anyway, I honestly can't accept that it's wrong to believe or disbelieve anything. That's the wonder of individual belief. Neuter the mind's ability to make its own conscious decisions about what is and is not, and you have yourself a theological corpse.

Not a zombie, mind, because zombies are cool - and there's nothing cool about a religious idiot; that is, someone who can't seek and believe for themselves.

If someone wants to worship, or even acknowlege their version of The Ultimate Evil™, that's their own business. The same applies for people who'd like to believe in Santa Claus (even though he has been scientifically disproven, thanks to the Laws of Thermodynamics. The old fire and brimstone version of Hell was also clonked by the LoT, for that matter.)

Myself, I think it's all quite silly, but that works for me. Whatever works for anyone else, well, who cares? They're more than welcome to it, so long as it doesn't spill my drink. :P

I just meant that there have been billions of people killed in the name of God and that only an extremely small fraction of that have been killed in the name of Satan.

It's meant to be humorous, innuendo.
