Still very groggy after a LOOOOOOONNNNNG day at the movies. Saw ROTK last night after seeing the extended versions of the previous films - and it was very nice seeing them on the big screen.
I will not spoil anything for anyone by going into details, but I will say that fans of the first 2 films are in for a treat. This movie is your reward for appreciating the first 2. There were so many touching moments in this film for me. It really is quite an accomplishment on PJ and crews parts.
The only negative comments I have are: That many of the CGI heavy battle scenes have so much going on and such quick camera movement, everyting seems to move in a blur. This was a failing in the first 2 films as well. That didn't bother me too much, as I am more of a fan of the acting and character driven story than the epic battles. That being said, some plotlines seemed ommited, but this is because I have a strong affinity for some of the minor characters. I am not refering to things in the book that did not make it into the film, rather things that are shown in the film with no further exposition or resolution. I am sure this will be remidied in the 4 hour plus extended edition
As a fan...I can't wait.
