The River...
I know this station probably isn't among the majority of people's favorites here but it's been mine. While I have found out that the e-mail and calling campaign has saved the format (or so they say), I still have heard nothing about the DJ's who I am quite fond of. Tonight they are having a final go out in The Old City at The Thinq Tank. I'm not sure where it's at but I am going to bust booty to try to be there. I usually try to not go out on a weeknight but this is something that I wanna do. So, I was just checking to see if anyone else is going. Just curious.

Well I can remember the days when WOKI FM (That which we now call the River) played some cool 80's stuff, back in the day. I have to admit I haven't listened to that station in a long while. Currently my favorite station is MAX 105.3 (The 80's Station) ... they have a website at http://www.wkvl.com ... and that's where my car radio seems to stay alot. They not only play 80's stuff like Michael Jackson and Madonna, but also the obscure ones like Midnight Oil and Tom Tom Club as well.

Just wanted to say that if anyone does come out, I will be there. I'll be wearing black pants, a red shirt with black fishnet sleeves and it says GUILTY in big black letters across the boobs. SO....if you see me, feel free to say hi and if I don't know you yet, just introduce yourself. I have dark brown hair...it could be up or down....I dunno yet. *shrugs* Alright...well, I'm gonna finish getting ready now.

Taylor used to work for me at the Dial. Tell her she has my sympathies and support.
So did someone buy it out, or what? Why are they changing anything at all?
Citadel Communications bought them out. They were going to change over to Adult Contemporary but the petitions and e-mails were enough to at least save the format. For more info, go to http://www.dontdamntheriver.com It was an emotional night all around. I was just happy to get say goodbye to Sarah this time....

Surely they don't mean to get rid of Phil Williams? He's always been so employable.
Is Sarah really leaving, and what are her or Pam's plans?
I'll keep in touch with Sarah...I've followed her for so long now that she knows just who I am. I'll ask her if Pam has AIM or an e-mail I can get in touch with her. I was so out of it there I wasn't thinking. After the broadcast was done, they did the hugs and stuff and went into another room for a bit...I had said good-byes already so I left. I figured I'd only cry more if I stayed. YES, I am an emotional SAP!! I don't care who knows it.

it was a good send off. left soon after they went off the air
i was just happy they were playing "super troopers" on the back wall or it would have been far to depressing... and they were running out of beer? how is that possible i thought beer was like doritos or something.

You were out last night? I don't think I've met you before. I was wondering around but usually staying pretty close to Sarah. I think I posted above what I was wearing...
