i have a friend who lives in dc and recently got a dwi so has a driving restriction. he is wanting to move down here and asked me if there would be a driving restriction here for him.

does anyone know?

probably, have him call this number and ask; (865) 215-7000 thats the non emergency KPD number.

But I'm 99% sure it will carry. If he can't drive at all, then he probably won't be able to get insurance. And if he gets insurace it will be the high risk expensive kind.

And to get a TN drivers license you have to have a valid other state license.
There is no replacement for displacement.

Actually his best bet would be to call the DOS in Nashville (seeing that KPD doesn't really know the law) Chances are the restrictions will carry over(it varies from state to state) and if he needs cheap high risk insurance I know the best place in town for that...
