Peta is Bullshit

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

I had a huife post here, but thre was some kind of error...and I'm not posting it again.

I don't like the propagada they use on young teens. However, when they start killing animals in a more humanem and cleaner fashion...I'm sure it's much more sanitary for the consumer.

Peta bashing is about as old as emo bashing, though I love Penn and Teller.

I don't agree with everything they do, but I am glad that someone out there tries to back up the things they believe in, instead of sitting around with their thumbs up their asses.

I was vegan for a few years and felt strongly about not contributing to cruelty and being on a less earth straining diet. Even if you ignore the animal rights stuff, the environmental impact of farming is pretty disgusting.

I have always preferred animals over most humans I've met.
I quit being vegan because I realized my diet wasn't doing any good for anyone really. But really, our nation would really benefit from leaving our meat centered diet...look at us, we're disgusting.

Some animal testing is necessary, but a large part of it is retarded, like rubbing shampoo and caustic chemicals in animals eyes...I personally think they should test on humans, but thats just me.

Morgan, you're a dirty girl.

Doesn't this belong in the rumor thread?

;)

Seriously, though, I couldn't agree more.

LMMFAO...

And I totally agree...
It should be rubbed into humans' eyes if they're going to test it in that particular way... as fucked as that sounds, we're the ones using most've the products, not animals...

When chickens start doing something to contribute to the world, other than being tasty... maybe then I'll start listening to PETA.

Yeah, I think it's fucking ridiculous for people to believe that it's wrong to eat animals... if given the chance, alot've them wouldn't think twice about eating us (and they just taste good)... but if I have anything to complain about, it would be the lengthy death of the animals. They should be killed alot more quickly, they feel pain too...... I'm sure it wouldn't be that difficult to let them go out less painfully, (be sure that the damn machines don't get stuck, etc.) even if they do have to kill alot've them in a short amount of time. Then again, i'm not doing shit to change that, and I still eat them... so I can't really complain...

I'd be happy if they'd stop pumping them full of hormones, cutting off their beaks, and overcrowding them...

But natural free range chicken....mmmmm....

Really the only meat I steer clear of is veal...after doing some work near the UT dairy farm and seeing the veal calves chained to their little huts...it was even more reason to never eat it. They were kicking and wanting to play, but they couldn't move...

You know theres also a cow they have there that has a permanent hole/ort in it's side, so they can monitor its stomach acids or something...its the most disturbing thing...its kinda like this...but with stomach juices flowing down its side and matted with dirt-

That is so sad. :-( Why are they keeping it alive? Are they experimenting on it? Why don't they just put it out've its misery?!

I do feel that if we start killing animals in a more sanitary enviorment...it would probably be healthier for the consumer.

I totally hate when PETA members say they prefer animals over people. I bet if they could do things like borrow money, gossip about you, and drive...You wouldn't be so kind. You never hear people say that they hate someone who is physically/metally handicapped.

my husband hunts..thats the only red meat we get other than the..maybe once a year store bought steaks.

Say what you will about mean ole hunters..but we use all we get and are damn thankful for it.

I do spend the extra for free range eggs, but im not sure how to get the chicken without having to sell one of my children to obtain it. Hopefully brian will get a turkey or two this year so our fowl needs are covered.

I think its horrible how the animals are treated in the industry..and i think its even worse how the goverment dunks the meat in the toilet, pukes on it..then packages it up nice for us to give to our children.

sometimes..i really dont think all this 'covenience' and modern technology is worth it.

i can't watch that video because I am here at work. But personally, I think PETA is a bunch of dumbasses.

I am very pro animal rights and all, but sorry, protesting the hissing cockroach thing at 6flags is a bit excessive.

It's for research and education. Any university with an agricultural program worth its salt has cows with these. It's so they can study the digestion, among a large host of other things.

I can't speak for this dairy farm of yours, but for properly taken care of cows with these things don't feel any pain because of it, and they remain covered when not actually being used so contaminants don't get into the cow. It's basically a large cow piercing with an eyelet in it that has a door.

Most hunters who eat game try to be as ethical and humane as possible. My father was an avid hunter. Many of his hunting buddies were from impoverished areas of East TN. Hunting helped them provide for their families. I think many people who point he finge rat hunters have become so acclimated to their enviroment being removed from nature, they don't understand that's the way humans have lived since the begining of time. I love to eat wild game, especially venison.

As far as the PETA stuff goes, I regard them as I do any other group who tries to force their beliefs on others. They ruin the cause for people (like my sister) who are vegetarians by personal choice and respect the differing opinions of others. [/quote]

I have no problem with hunting. I think everyone who eats meat (including me) should have to run down the animal and rip its throat out with their teeth. Just kidding...

Some hunters are compassionate and use every bit of the animal they kill...but some are assholes like my uncle. At thanksgiving dinner he used to pull out fresh deer horns to show me what he'd killed (just to try to get to me because I was a vegetarian). Retarded.

Now my dad and grandpa hunt and fish and never rubbed it in my face....hell I like fishing...I think feeding yourself naturally is pretty awesome.

I was against deer hunting for a while until one slammed into my car and fucked it up badly in the middle of the day. I had a venison burger just other day...it was great.

I hunt and ascribe to the philosophy that if you kill it, you must use all the gifts that animal has provided you with. Hunting for trophys only and not eating what you kill is just plain wrong.

While PETA would have you believe that hunters are all evil people that should be shot with their own guns, let one of them hit a full grown buck while doing 60 or 70 down the interstate. If we don't control the population by hunting, we will soon be overrun with starving deer and that will become a more common occurence. My husband hit one several years ago and it totalled his car. The deer walked away.

Back to topic. Next time you see one of the PETA nuts out on the loose, check out the shoes and belts. Most of the time, they are wearing Nikes or some other big name brand of LEATHER shoes!
