Uh, did you happen miss the warning below my screen name? I should be a walking disclaimer by now.
As a matter of fact, I hope it did disturb you. It is disturbing, only because in this case, art truly does reflect reality. In fact, how do you know that the artist who made that wasn't using music and Flash to tell you their life story?
If that were the case, then I would think they did a beautiful job - a hell of a lot better than watching some boring ass episode of 60 Minutes, and listening to some over-paid jackass (who most likely doesn't give even a damn) spew psychobabble about the effects of the situation on the victim.
But maybe they're simply saying, "Hey, that's out there."
And maybe by being disturbed, you've just proven that you're human, and that you're not totally fucked up in the head. Congratulations, and welcome to the club.

*hugs* Well said my love.
May your dreams be the future you could have had, and your nightmares be the realization that you destroyed your chance to make it reality.

That it is. It's amazing what we do to each other in life. It's also interesting that this hasn't gotten a peep on NG, guess I'll have to phrase something to get the ball rolling...
Sometimes it's just too hard to come up with the right phrase...

i was not too disturbed, since it was a cartoon.
that may make me a very terrible person, but i look at it this way. it was a cartoon. if maybe it was a home video of someone beating some one like that, i would be shocked, appalled and then some. i do not condone domestic violence.
but, then again i always click on the iblis links and find most of them very amusing.

Just because it is animated.. does not mean that it is any less true to life. The inspiration for the animation has to be drawn from some sort of real life experience, else it would not be so moving to people,
May your dreams be the future you could have had, and your nightmares be the realization that you destroyed your chance to make it reality.
Wow. Didn't disturb me, but then i worked at a battered women's shelter, and saw the shit for real, so seing an animated version of it loses some of the intensity.
i thinks its good that the subject matter is being addressed, regardless of the manner it is being expressed in. If people don't talk about all the shit that happens in the world, nothing wil ever be done about it.

As someone who looks for entertainment of this style on a regular basis ( with a moral/substance yet well made) I have to say that it was up threre with all korn videos on this topic. Not my choice for a song but i really can't say i could have done it better. It really is time that art actually started to do more than hang on a wall. We all sympathise with Eric Draven but what about the kids,wives,husbands,pets,co-workers and bums with out coming back from the dead. Tony Robbins would be proud.
Well that was disturbing...
but you know it happens.
Like when I was younger, my dad worked in a school system where a boy came and told the head psychologist he might have to kill his daddie. The kid was about 9 so everyone told him to just be nice (got great grades, played sports, yadda) but my dad warned some people, he'd seen bruises too large to be accidents on the kid...
Then one day the father comes home drunk again, starts beating on the mother, and the kid tells him to stop. The father threatens the son and keeps beating the mom. So the kid goes and gets the shot gun. The kid tells the father to let go of the mom. The father tells the son to fuck off. So the kid blows out one knee cap of the dad. The dad says he's gonna kill him. The kid says stop if you come closer I'll have to kill you. You're not going to beat on me and mom anymore. So the dad lunges and the son shoots out the other knee. So the dad screams at the kid and the kid says, "I don't want to have to kill you, but if you keep coming towards us I will." So the dad is crawling toward the kid and the kid shoots him in the shoulder, dad screams and throws himself at them and the son says, "I'm sorry" and walks closer to his father and shoots him in the head.
Mom passes out, kid puts up the gun, calls the sheriff, and tells him he's just shot his father.
Normally the kid would have gone to jail, but dad and some other psychologist rallied to keep the kid out of jail because he was a good kid, just defending himself.
It's been like 15 years and now the kids got a family, wife and like 2 kids. Never hurt anyone again. Not a violent person, never hits his wife.
And if you lived in middle tennessee, you could be working alongside this person.

"Lono Veccio: Well, if you give me a couple minutes of your time, I got a few things I'd like to talk to ya about. You know, eh, what you did wasn't really your fault. It's what you call, a eh, genetic defect. Mom called it the, the gene. My Grandfather had the gene, he eh, came over from the boat from Ireland in 1912 and I guess he passed it on to my Old Man. My Old Man was a great guy, a real pussy cat, you know hard worker. Big sports fan, but sometimes on his way home from the docks he liked to stop in with the guys and have a couple of beers, ya know. I remember coming home from school one day, and eh, the whole house was dark. Couldn't figure it out. I heard my Mom crying off in the dark someplace, and I was old enough at that point I could reach the light switch. I turned the lights on, and I saw, what he did to her. So I went to my room and I got, the eh, baseball bat. Mikey Mantel model my Old Man give me for Christmas, and I found the Old Man passed out in the bathtub, and I tattooed him. Needless to say, when I came home everyday from school after that, the eh, house is lit up like Ebbet's Field, and the Old Man eh, never drank again. So all I'm saying to you is if you wanna drink, you go ahead and drink. But if I ever find out that you laid your hands on that little girl again, me and Mr. Mantle are gonna pay you a visit my friend. "
