Stich N' Bitch

Post by Thrall »

We are kicking around the idea of having a craft demonstration/punkrawk sewing circle jerk/excuse to play with hot glue guns at Wasted Potential.

Do you want to play with us?

What would you like to learn?

Will you bring your own stuff or should we provide supplies for a nominal fee?

would you like to play along or do you just want to watch?

the times are not set yet how do you feel about saturday at 11 in the afternoon, or sunday at 2 in the afternoon?

Well, you know I've already been talking to Morgan about it. Saturdays would be the best for me, purely because that's one of the few days that Jason would definitely be available to watch the children. I'll probably be the late person, because he doesn't get up until after 12 on Saturdays.

I think people should bring their own things. You guys are providing the space to get together. You shouldn't have to deal with projects and supplies for other people.

Maybe everyone could chip in to order lunch though, or bring refreshments*. :)

*refreshments being a blender and margarita fixings.

Preferably bring your own supplies/tools if you have them, but offer to provide them for a fee if you don't.

Is there a particular craft theme in mind?

And "refreshments" sounds like a great idea, but I don't know how much work would get done! :P

That is a killer idea. I agree with Huntress, about suggest bringing stuff...but still have some for a fee. Sunday would be best for me, simply beacause of work, but it really doesn't matter.

:D Craft time makes kiity happy! :cat: Thats something that I love to do, its just that I never take the time to do it mostly. But I think bringing your own stuff sounds good with the option to borrow for a fee. And like everyone else I am curious as to what kind of craft demos there will be. I LOVE weaving baskets!

I don't know how, but I've been very knit-curious for a bit. I'm not necessarily going just to knit. I've got a list of stuff a mile long that I need to finish. If we get this together, I will consider it my appointment with myself to finish some projects.

I want to learn knitting, crotcheting, sewing, embroidery, tatting, whatever....and its not like I have anything better to do on a Saturday in the day time.

The only problem I see is seating. We can do bring your-own-cushion, or try to get some chairs or something. I'd like some folding chairs and maybe some card tables. If anyone has any to donate or knows where to steal a bunch, speak up! The chairs are around 8 bucks at walmart and the tables a little over 20...

I think that supplying supplies may be a bad idea because we could possibly lose money if no one needs them and we do need to keep the store open, lol

If anyone is willing to teach anything, speak up!

I do beadwork, sewing and a little crocheting (just basics) and have tried my hand at any number of crafty things. I would be willing to teach if you needed me to. :D

Count me in ^_^! I have my own crafting supplies and maybe extra for others to borrow.

I'd love to do this!

I'm addicted to crafting.

I think everyone should bring their own materials...it would be easier on you guys that way.

I love/do a variety of crafty things.

Cool I think we are aiming for next Saturday! If anyone has an idea on chairs, lemme know! I'm excited...and of course, any crafty guys are welcome to.

I invited some of the girls from work, I think they are excited too.

I'm assuming being able to pee your name in snow (in calligraphy!) isn't considered 'crafty', eh?
