Where are the laid back places to hang out grab a beer and maybe play a game of pool?

Knoxville!

Post by Scorptrio »

meh! I'm in Pigeon Forge and I go to Knoxville for a laid-back place to grab a beer and play a game of pool! Just try going into any Sevierville bar dressed the way we dress and see what happens...

You can always come over to my office for a beer and video games instead of pool...

If you do find a place, let me know. There is always Party Hut in Gatlinburg on Monday nights.

Welcome to the Pat Cave

My office is my lair, my sanctuary, my fortress of solitude. From here I plot my schemes to save the human race from its own self-destruction. This occasionally requires beer. My sound system is pretty decent, too...

is there stuff to do up here in Sevierville?!

 no seriously, Trance has some stuff going on up in Gatlinburg, but I haven't had the chance to make it up there yet. I usually go to Knoxville when I want to hang out somewhere and have a beer.

We need to find someplace....

Looks like Alternative Dance Night at the Party Hut in Gatlinburg on Monday nights is no more. How many people live in Sevier County and are interested in finding a friendly hang-out locally? I haven't a clue on where to start looking...

See, I knew this thread would go nowhere...because Sevierville is in the middle of nowhere.

I guess we could always go hassle the tourists for fun?

winery

Post by Tabris »

If you are up for a little driving, you could go to the Biltmore House. There is a new winery run by the Biltmore House, now on the esate too. The one good thing is you do not even have to pay to take the tour of the winery, and you get all the free samples you want. How ever, the wine there to buy is way over rated, but hell free is free. You could always go the National Smokies Park in N. C. too.

What part are you staying in?

Sevierville is the hind end of space!

hehehe

Tabris,

We all live in Sevier Co. We drive to Knoxville to find something to do because everything here is either tourist or redneck oriented. We're looking for an alternative-friendly place for the half dozen KGers who live in the area to meet during the week. It takes me about 45 minutes to get to Knoxville, which is fine for the weekends but wouldn't work out so well on a weeknight. I'm not sure how we're going to find someplace, short of bar-hopping the county.

You guys could always start congregating at the Kareoke Cafe in Seymour. I'm pretty sure they're open every night and it's closer than K'town.

As a recovering Seviervillian, i would reccomend making the drive down to Knoxville if you are looking for anything along the lines of a bar or club. The drive is worth it, and it isn't usually to hard to find a Knoxville person that'll let ya crash on their couch if you need to.

There are however, many other goth type things to do in the area. There are lots of really old cemeteries to go hang out in at night that i greatly prefer to the Knoxville cemeteries. Up there you are much less likely to trip over a drunk or get chased off by security. There are also old deserted houses that are supposedly haunted to poke around in. Also, i recently saw a brochure for a place that is now doing historical ghost tours of the area. Probably touristy as hell, but still could be fun. So there is stuff to do for goth-type-people, you just have to be more creative to find it.
