Producer Jerry Bruckheimer, currently enjoying success with Pirates of the Carribean and about to rake it in for sure-thing Bad Boys II, is working on yet another King Arthur movie, this one “faithfully” based on Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur, the earliest of the written Arthurian legends. The film is going to be "dark" and "serious," with an R rating and, it's pretty clear, a Gladiator-like tone, with lots of battles and not much Merlin. The film will star Clive Owen and be directed by Antoine Fuqua. Stephen Dillane is in talks to play a decidedly un-magical Merlin.
Keira Knightley from Pirates is said to be playing Guinevere.
