knoxville bands

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

knoxville bands

Post by revrin »

Who is the top local bands in knoxville. I am looking for a couple other bands to play with Never Before in October.
And for those interested, Never Before has a small web site now. Forgive the quality of the sound clips, it seems they are from practices. http://www.angelfire.com/indie/neverbefore/

Hyper Tribe is good. And Bob wired Shelia. Also The USed is pretty good. Damn it Bone!!! Sorry,I guess I don't know any current good bands. Call the Judy Bats....wait they broke up as well. Grr
Yes, I have wished you were dead. You are just another face in the crowd, someone who brings me suffering, someone I truely hate.

Blackgrass is hands down the best Knox band ever in terms of sheer ability, songwriting and original sound.

The only bands that even came close were Shaken Babies and Pegasi 51, both of which are no more.

Three votes for Blackgrass.

I would also suggest Dixie Dirt, (Jazz Punk-Country), Pink Sexies (Punk with Mowtown Soul), and Pleuromia(Soft Progressive rock)

Good Luck

Mick is playing with My Ruin and Nick is working at a recording studio in LA. (He was in the newspaper for winning a grammy;also helped with Manson's cd Holywood)
Chris became a drum tech and I have no idea what happened to Manning.

I'd love to see some new bands around here though....the scene needs to be revamped

I agree. The scene was great in the early 90's, but then it just died almost overnight. I believe it had something to do with a friend of mine who used to throw parties at his house in the Fort. He usually averaged three to four bands a party. Some bands where formed at his parties. Some, like Superdrag, played their first shows there. But, he's married and has a child now, so that is out. Plus, another friend is now on the new 105.3. We all still get together, but I don't think you all would want to be there..... lots of orange.....

Ahh, memories.......

What genre of Band were we talking about here guys?

Goth, Horror, Death Metal, Metal, Industrial

Having booked bands for some eight years up here in the tri-cites, I have seen some really good ones and really bad ones.

Is there even really a place to play in Knoxville now?

And by what critriea are we judging the bands by.

Creativity

Orginality

Stage Prencense

talent

Look

Overall sound

Studio work

Longevity

or that other something

anyway I'd be a bad one to call a best since I haven't seen them all.

My favorite I have seen of all time was the

Sisters of Mercy in '83
Flesh is the law, do what thou will
