New Wave Knoxville requests & Skareoke this sunday!

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

You know I'll do all four.

1) How about some Tears for Fears

"Policy of Truth" Isn't an 80s song... it came out in the 90s....

The name of that OMD song is "If You Leave". May I suggest playing OMD, but maybe something a little less played out. I mean... it's a good song and all... but...

Maybe "Secret" or "Tesla Girls". "Tesla Girls" had some realy incredible dance mixes made of it...

Because there is actually a chance that I will be going, I'd also like to request a few more somewhat obscure tracks besides the OMD:

Echo & The Bunnymen, "Lips Like Sugar"
The Bolshoi, "A Way"
Strawberry Switchblade, "Since Yesterday"
Bronski Beat, "Smalltown Boy" or "Junk"
Oingo Boingo "Good For Your Soul"
Danny Elfman "Cool City" Or "Gratitude"
Alphaville, "Forever Young"
The Blow Monkeys, "Digging Your Scene"

Oooh... and howzabout a Vince Clarke set?...

Depeche Mode, "Nodisco"
Yaz, "Situation"
Erasure, "Oh L'Amour"

Mmmm hm... nothin' says techno pop like some Vince Clarke.

I only ask because I'm kinda sick of the stuff on the 80s station, and I understand you have a really good collection.
The firemen came and broke through the chimney top. And me and Mom were expecting them to pull out a dead cat or a bird. And instead they pulled out my father. He was dressed in a Santa Claus suit. He'd been climbing down the chimney... his arms loaded with presents. He was gonna surprise us. He slipped and broke his neck. He died instantly. And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus.

Psst...vert your age is showing...hehe.

I hate to admit I had a good time last Friday until I had to leave abruptly....

But I don't think it was the music...I think it was the people..Jay and Kasi, Susanna and Karla, Stephen, Rachel, Steven, Scarecrow and J_C, etc, etc. Merlot may also have had a part....

Hey X ...

Got a few requests ... actually I'll put these on a CD and try to get them to you by Friday somehow.

Hands Up to Heaven - Heaven 17
Don't Hold Your Breath - Agency-X
Technology - Synthetik FM (that's me actually!) :)
All I Ever Wanted - Human League

(a few snippets of my collection of modern synthpop)

Oh and props to whoever mentioned Vince Clarke. He's the whole reason I am even doing music these days, Erasure, Yazoo, and early DM are a big influence on me.

Fun? Ah yes, the employment of time in a profitless and non-practical way.

4) go to skareoke

no

Echo and the Bunnymen - People Are Strange.

I don't give a great damn when it was recorded, it's a cool cover. :D

Oh, and Joy Division - Shadowplay

We will be there, after work....to celebrate our anniversary! (which is actually today, but wtf).

We do have a request...dont know if it really fits the theme, but again, wtf...Ozzy's "Shot in the Dark". Our first date was an Ozzy concert, back in the long forgotten year of 1986, when dinosaurs walked the earth (in parachute pants).

See ya there
