yeah, pretty crazy amount of damage for just a small thunderstorm... well, a small thunderstorm with average wind speeds of 85, and gusting to over 100mph... amazingly enough, there was only one directly related to the storm fatality. 3 more as a consequence of the storm - an 85 year old couple went to bed with a house full of lit candles.... burnt in thier sleep. a couple of people died from the fumes of the generator they were running for power...

i think most of the power has been resotred now... the only real problem left (aside form a few thousand damaged homes) is that 75% of the traffic lights in the city were destroyed... so yeah, getting to work can be a real pain.

uummm yeah, maybe you guys should think about planting smaller trees?
