Well I saw this movie today and personally i liked it. I am a fan of the graphic novel maybe that is why I like it as much as i do. But i do believe it was a missed opportunity to make a really great movie instead of just a "pretty cool" movie. There was no drug use like in the book, not much blood and gore like in the book either. Yet I did find some of the humor charming and I like that they added Dorian Grey to the list of Characters. yeah that is that.

Excellent casting. Good Plot. Great Effects. Hellooooo Vampire! uNF Dorian Gray. Tom Sawyer, WTF? BOOM! Yay! That about sums it up.

Okay this movie has problems but not on the scale that most critics are going on about. It is propably better if you've read the graphic novel that would give the characters (in this form) some more depth. Loved all the literary referances of the era, and even some Fleming and Rush refs, nice. The riddly scot style fight seens were a little anoying, and while some effects were nice some were on the scale of the sinbad series from the 70's. Sean Conery is cool and sort of plays up his old james bond routine (lots of refs to james, never say never again and other fleming stuff). Though akward still worth a matinee.

I thought this was a terribly boring move. It really didn't do anything for me. Okay, Stuart Townsend lovely ("growl"), and Peta Wilson's character was cool--I loved her imitation of Sean Connery. But the dialogue and plot holes were really irritating. And I usually like Alan Moore a lot, tho I've never read this one.

What a great series of comics. Too bad all the heart and soul was scripted out of existence and then marketed by complete schmucks. This had so much potential as an atmospheric opium laced dream, but it was placed firmly on the back of a terribly miscast Sean Connery and transformed into another action extravaganza. Eddie Izzard was in talks to play the invisible man. I am glad he backed out.

Liked it and didn"t like it. I really liked the idea and it had a very positive feel but there were a few problems. I hope a 'director's cut' will fill the gaps. But as I said, I did like it but will only give one :tup:
