80s nite was horrific.

Me to Jack and labluegirl, "Do you ever feel embarrassed for people?"

Yes indeed, I didn't know whether to run in mortal terror, or laugh my ass off.

I agree Buttercup.

Me to Buttercup, "This sucks, only in Knoxville would people in this scene get into and dance to booty music."

All I had to say when I walked in was, all this flannel and baseball caps make my eyes bleed. Watching them dance though is infinitely funny. I just sit back and enjoy the myriad entertanments that humans can provide.

And Shadow and ShadowDancer. I'm too sey for my shirt, too sexy for my shirt, sooo sexy it huurrtts!

Yeah, watching dark and spooky people doing "the electric slide" and dancing to disco music, and bad early 90's pop...well...makes ya wanna break the nearest beer bottle and slice your eyes out..

But at least they had fun. :D

Bone, when I first got there, you were playing some good 80's stuff. It went downhill from there...70's, 90's, not even good 70's or 90's that would fit in with the 80's night theme. I understand that you have to play to the norms. There were a bunch of them there. But, sweety, if I wanted to hear that shit and hang out with norms, I would go to fucking Michael's. So, I don't think that I'll return. The norms seemed to be having a blast.

Seventies stuff too? Disco?

Hmmm...

I might have to go next week and request "I was made for dancing." You think I'm kidding don't you...currently my get up and go music.

Actually sounds like a lot of fun. I'll have musical issues with the hip hop portions of the set but eh...what can you do? As long as it's a wide variety of genre musics I'll be happy. To be fair I'm sure there were a lot of people out there wondering why I was dancing to "Bohemian Rhapsody".

Say...if "Bohmemian Rhapsody" can be fun to dance to how about "Stairway to Heaven"? Maybe play it early in the evening before people start to show up as was BR.

I just tune out the music and laugh at the rednecks.

I would tend to agree with Erin's assessment that bad 90s music is worse than bad 80s music.

I thought the very young people who were pissed off that the bar had seized somebody's allegedly fake ID were funny (at least, that's what it sounded like from hearing them talk on their cel phones outside).
I was born a bastard - and then I just got worse.

I pretty much had a blast and I'm still sore from dancing...
Love hip hop, and realizing (now) how MorGoth some disco is (stapler, STAT!), and seeing a Goth line dance, was an education.

One I forgot:
Bone announcing "Here's one for Michael Xi" as I Got A Meeting in the Ladies' Room started up...

As for me.. I believe I'm way past embarassment. I think I've become one with the humiliation I bring upon myself. It builds character don't ya know.
