Michael Xi Dances with Prince!

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Did I start www.knoxdkm.com ?

Post by morepunkthangoth »

I did start knoxdkm.com. The DKM supporters club is run by the band's webmaster & record label, but knoxdkm is my own local fan site. I became local street team leader by joining, then asking if they needed someone for Knoxville, since the next closest leader is in Memphis. I just post updates, photos, etc at knoxdkm.com & try to interest people in spreading the word on DKM, especially in the Knoxville area. When Epitaph/Hellcat sends me posters, stickers & such, I email all of my official & unofficial members to see who wants some, and try to keep everyone up to date on DKM TV appearances, internet radio interviews, etc. We had a nice little Epitaph sponsored DVD release party at the end of February to screen the ' On the Road with the Dropkick Murphys ' dvd before it was released in stores. The band paid for my Warped tour ticket last year, and my wife & I have visited Boston the last two years to catch their annual St. Patrick's day gigs. Even though they have CD's in major retail chains & tour extensively, these guys are the kind of people that walk to a pub for a charity breakfast past a line of fans and say ' good morning ' or ' how's it going ? ' to the fans as they pass. ( One might expect that they would already be inside, avoiding the fans until the event starts, but they act just like regular guys who are just glad someone enjoys their music. ) Now if they would just put Knoxville on their tour schedule! ( If we do our job well, that might happen at some point. )

I do like old-school goth, by the way, ( think Bauhaus, Christian Death, Sisters of Mercy... ) I just tend to listen to more punk, jazz, celtic stuff, Sinatra and so forth lately. I'm also a big Shane MacGowan fan. ( Go figure, right ? A Pogues/Shane fan who also likes DKM ? Not a big stretch, I think. )

L8r, Chuck C

PS...Anyone who wants to help out with the DKM thing, email me at lovejoyinc@yahoo.com with subject containing ' DKM ' or ' Dropkick Murphys ' to distinguish the message from the bevy of SPAM emails I recieve daily.
