Hm...where to start?
Thursday evening we found out that our venue was shut down by the Fire Marshal. As we walked out of the building, after talking to one of the owners about any possibilities of having it at one of their other locations, Tony's phone rang. He was told that one of his best friends, Randy, whom he had known since the 8th grade, had suddenly died. We secured a new venue within hours and went to work reorganizing and getting the word out. That was Thursday.
Friday we spent most of the day running errands -- most of which were necessary because of the last minute venue change (redoing flyers, etc.). We met with the owners and managers of the Electirc Ballroom, along with a few of the DJs, and got everything ironed out there. That evening there was a gathering of Randy's friends to attend. I left that for a bit to go by 11th St. to let anyone know, who didn't already, about the venue change and to talk to one of my helpers, Morgan. The gathering lasted until around two in the morning. </Friday>
Saturday - up at 8 AM for more errand running, during which we were trapped in West Knoxville for a short time because of the storm. On to the Electric Ballroom at 6 PM, Tony leaving then for the visitation. The show went on. Home again, home again, jiggity jog at 530 the next morning.
Sunday - slept until the afternoon, waking to the toilet flooding the bathroom and half of the living room. Tony, from stress and bad food, was throwing up most of the day. We just went to get something to eat. We come home, we sit down, we read this bullshit.
Here it is Monday morning. I'm going to bed soon. We managed to get on the internet in the last couple of days just enough to put up revised directions to the venue and other such updates.
Any more questions? Get on with it. Surely there's something else to see. No, I didn't send the emails. Neither did Tony. Jonathan didn't send them either. I'm pretty sure your granny didn't do it, but hey, stranger things have happened. Why haven't we responded to emails? We have been a bit busy trying to save the night so that you would all (rather, most of you) have the Ball to attend, as close to as-promised as we could pull off with such little notice.
I'm tired. So, hey, fuck off. Good night.
