This is to funny! I normally sit back and read the post and laugh. But I have to say something. This is a Goth night. I happen to like the DJ's and their selection of music. I would hate to have a Goth/industrial music nite broadened into a Goth/Country music night or maybe Goth/Polka ,or Goth and Opera. I'm being a fececious :twisted:

devil tonight. If you don't like the music then don't go simple. You do not see me at places that play country music.
This is just an observation. I think Jacks little icon with the angel halo should be changed to Devil horns :twisted:

The opinion of a non-five dollar paying member of KnoxGoth.

I used to dwell in the Knoxville scene. (aka Planet Earth,Club 121,
Mercury,and Neptune.) Over the years I have noticed very little change.There has always a group of people better than the other. (Human Behavior???) It seems to me that this situation is no different.
You have one group that is combined of all at first,then in comes the new generation from within the group.

What starts this? One person does not like the way another DJ's. One person hates a song that was played. The elder members are afraid to let go to the newer members. The young people piss ___ off bad. So and so has a girlfriend/boyfriend that I do not like. She said he said they said. It all equals insercurity and hate to me..

We all have a group of friends/people we are more fond of,but,should we separate the majority and start another minority here in Knoxville,in order to hopefully weed out our troubles? I see this other forum as just that. (A method to weed through the unwelcomed) But,when a large group divides into a smaller group/groups...what normally happens? (Review all past civil wars) They separate to form what???? A smaller group that after years of hard work turns into the same sized group???Made of what???All the original ideas of the pervious group???With all the same members??? But with a change of power???

Needless to say this whole "other" forum to me seems like a waste of time. I firmly believe that the Black Ball will be one hell of a good time. And I am sure all that miss it will regret. But,lets get real on another note...Do you honestly think that a Saturday "Goth" night will continue to happen regularly? This kinda seems like an election...I see alot of false promises that I have been promised before. And I still have not received.

So it is safe to say that I will not be attending the Balck Ball this weekend. Although,I would like to say that it is because I feel insuperior to the great ones,I cannot. Because that would be a lie. Although,I do remember someone saying :Why would you want to go to a party if you do not get along with the people there?" That quote seems rather strange to have a "All are welcomed" night.

oh and if everyone doesnt remeber or just didnt know. this forum and sanctus spawned from a group of members tired of the way things were being handled at another goth website.

not to mention the fact that *personal opinion* IF YOU SUPPORT THE SCENE, THEN YOU SHOULD BE THERE, SINCE THE NIGHT INFACT SUPPORTS THE SCENE.

I have no personal beef against you X, and I hope you know that, but if you look back at the old forum and some of the posts you personally made attacking Sinister, attacking a new night that formed out of "disrespect" for the KG- because it went out on its own and didn't ask permission... you had some pretty nasty things to say that did NOT support the growth and advancement of the scene. (So did many other board members who are now singing the praises of expansion.) Is it different now that you are personally involved in the club? (and I don't mean that rudely, it's just a speculation)

Seriously, I personally think it's great and fine and perfectly natural to want bigger better venues for the scene. And I obviously will support any attempts to branch out because its not easy.

My problem, as reflected by many other members of the community, is the whole "we have a private forum, but please support our awesome public party!" It borders on being a little hypocritical, and it just doesn't sit well. You just can't snub your nose at a section of the community, and them ask them to support your venue. If you want a private website, keep it that way. Only members should post AND only members should be able to view the forum. I've peeked over there to see KG members, who have just ranted on KnoxGothic, post afterwards at the private forum which may not be named, saying- "I just had to get away from the drama over there." Welllllll, if you don't like the public forum, post in your private one. The whole, "Drama-free fascade" of the new board really doesn't exist.

Enough already. I had planned on attending the Ball in the first place, along with other friends who aren't part of the private forum which may not be named, and really didn't give a shit until I realized the double-standard going on. I just don't think the whole idea was completely thought through. And it doesn't always happen that way. I just feel that certain individuals have purposefully created a rift, and some of us are paying attention the repurcussions.

I don't think you understood what I was saying, so let me give you a concrete example:

Dead Can Dance are a band that is regularly played at "goth" nights throughout the world, including our own. There are some people as would say DCD are a "goth" band. There are some as would say they're a "hippie" band. There are some who would even dare suggest they're just a band who has incorporated various things into their sound at various times in their career, and what does "goth" or "industrial" actually mean, anyway?

I understand where the local DJ's come from...And yes I did support them.(I currently do not because of illnesses.But,if you need my support send me some of your original material and I will pay for it.)
As far as the Black Ball goes...I just want to open people's eyes to what I perceive is going on. And that is...another forum wants you to attend thier function...Yet,in previous statements they have clearly stated that some of you/us are not welcomed. And in previous other statements some added "Why would you want to go,if you were not invited?".

So I have one question for the "other forum"...Why are we all of a sudden deciding to invite all? You say it is not the money...Then tell me what it is? You previously stated that some were not welcomed....So why are they now?

The the private forum which may not be named forum is invitation only. Why? So we will have only members who are friends with at least someone on the board. That way, you do not get all the walk-in jackasses, trolling and flaming away, for whom no one can account. This is the only way we can think of to have a board that does not need moderators, something we are quite tired of. The initial list of invitees was limited to people whom we know and like, but was not inclusive of everyone we know and like. Those first members have the right to invite whomever they wish to add to our roster. In turn, the new members invited by them may invite whomever they wish. Whaddya know, it works! We don't have much time wasted in bickering on our board. We can use the time to actually get things done, like the planning of events. Events...
Stay with me buddy. Do you need some oxygen? The event we have organized on the private forum which may not be named has never been invitation-only. Never was anyone told they were not welcome to come. Interestingly, the KGB itself had no problem with our forum, until we announced we had arranged an event without consulting them. Laughable, that, especially in consideration of the fact that two of them are among the first registered members of our board. I guess the Bone being picked here is over who is collecting the cover at the door. There is no sudden change in that we are now inviting all. You do not have to invite people to an open party. You just tell them it is happening. The event, if you can read a flyer, is open to all adults, of at least 18yrs age. If, on the night of Saturday the 27th, you feel that you should abstain from fun, in order to show that you wish only to support KG, rather than support a widening scene, then, by all means stay at home, or go down to Liquid and spend your money there. Or go out of town and patronize someone else's scene. I do not care really what your decision will ultimately be. It is the basis, or fallacy, upon which you decide which bothers me, and that only slightly. I do not know you, and would not recognize you if you showed up. And if you do not show, I will not miss seeing you. There will be many people there whom I will not know, and I doubt any of them will enjoy themselves one bit less for not being a member of the the private forum which may not be named forum.

It's for everyone who feels like they've gotten fucked by the private forum which may not be named and are now going to squirt out its demon child. We will have an event which will exclude the private forum which may not be named members. This event will have a $10 cover. Please come and pay your money, as you ARE invited. I'm not, so I won't be there. Oh, and who's going to DJ? Aw, crap, I should have thought this out better! I'm pissing everyone off now! No one's going to come to my event! What have I done?!
