i think it was manson (marilyn, not charles) that said something along the lines of, 'i don't discriminate, i hate everyone.' it's a thought that frequently flits through my brain when i'm out in public (not a social beast, meself).
but, yeah. it can be a tough fight to fight, and just like anyone in any movement for equality and fairness, it can get tiring. my women's studies professor used to talk about days when she just couldn't deal with being a feminist, days when she'd just have to ignore the good fight.
the way i figure, we do what we can, when we can. it might be a slooooow process, like oceans eroding rocky cliffs, but everything has some effect on something somewhere. at least that's what i believe, anyway. keeping the dream alive, and all that.
