100.3?? Every time I have tuned in since I've still heard the likes of Jason Mraz, Big Head Todd, and John Mayer. Hmmm...that's odd.

I think she's out on her own now. The last time I talked to her yesterday, she said she was still waiting to see if they were going to call. Citadel is saying to everyone that they are going to talk to the DJ's about coming back but according to her, she doesn't of them doing anything like that.

Oops. I thought at the time that we were listening to the River. We were in fact, my wife informs me, tuned into the Bone. It still sucks, though, that the Bone has changed to hip-hop.

I listen to 91.9 and 105.3. I thought that the Bone and the River were the same thing, for some reason. Kind of like how I thought that Melanie Griffith and Meg Ryan were the same person for a long time. They were so similar to me, in some way, that I just blended them. 104.5 was playing some jungle rhythms last night, I can assure you.

I never much cared for the river myself....and I wish "Ripley" or whatever her name is would take a flying leap...*cringe* I always found her really stupid and obnoxious. Of course most radio dj's are obnoxious, and I guess she's better than "delilah"..
I find myself, too, listening to NPR /91.9 /WUOT more than anything. I would listen to The Torch or the First Amendment radio if I could get them out in Oak Ridge
You should try NPR you might learn something.

YOU'RE DEAD TO ME!
...
Hi.
LOL, I didn't get your radio show in Oak Ridge...but I'm sure you were quite "to the point" about it....
"hi this is Caustic on The Torch, and I'm about to play ____ by ____ which is better than any of the shit you normally listen to"...

I listen to The River, 98.7, NPR, KFAR, WUTK, and the 80s station...
Mostly.
This afternoon I've been listening to Lili Haydn, which segues nicely into the Rasputina I'm about to put in.

It was, is, and ever shall be New Rock, so far as I'm concerned. And, yeah, I did have that nasty habit of announcing who and what I was playing. Foolish me.

I only really listen to the radio when I'm in the car. I actually don't even have a radio inside. If I want to listen to the radio inside, I get it from online streams.
By the bye, some of you might be interested in "The Big Broadcast," which is a show Rich Conaty does out of Fordam University in the Bronx. It's pop from the 1920's and 30's. You can listen live on Sundays 8pm to Midnight, or they have most of the shows archived here. To listen live on Saturday nights, just click on the "Listen Live" link on the main page.

It drives me crazy when dj's don't tell you what you heard...or when they tell you, but they say, you just heard ___ followed by ___, followed by____. Its too much for my wee brain, and how do they know if I just tuned in or had been listening to the whole program??
I was figured if I said New Rock 90 some dick would be all, "naaa its The Torch..blah blah." But for the majority of my life it was New Rock 90...

It has and always will be New Rock 90!!!!
I've been listening to that station for more than a decade now. I don't listen as frequently as I would like, but now I live in an area where I can pick it up again.

I met "Ripley" when she was on The X, on my 19th birthday...she remembers this as well. I've kept in touch with her until now when she's Sarah. I will continue to keep in touch with her even if she doesn't get another gig here. For some reason, she has always inspired me to not care what people thought. It's a nasty habit I have...always worrying about what people think of me. She's been there through some shit that I just randomly e-mailed her for unbiased opinions on. As for her radio style, that would be a love or hate kinda thing...I obviously love her but I know some people who don't. I shall miss her though. I consider her amongst my friends.

I like her because she's the only dj on mainstream radio who plays Tori Amos. I hope they hire her back.

For some reason, I doubt that was her decision. I could be wrong, but I can't picture the DJs of a commercial station having much influence into the line-up.
True. It's probably just in rotation. Commercial radio sucks that way.
....they say you better listen to the voice of reason
But they don't give you any choice
'cause they think that it's treason.
So you had better do as you are told.
You better listen to the radio....

Well, she was also the Music Director. I mean, sure she could be "vetoed" by people over her but she had a lot of say in what got played. She would always ask if anyone knew of anything that might fit that was good to let her know and she would check it out and see what could be done about getting it on air.
