• any former tampa bay area residents?

im going to florida for a few weeks with my father after graduation this weekend, i was wondering if we have any residents or former residents on here. Just want a lil info on the scene down there

not a tampa resident
from orlando but often go to tampa area to work and hit the club

as far as the scene I usualy go to the castle

decent club however different nights have a diff style
mon - video night pretty much open season smiths to red stripes
fri and sat are good for industrial to goth

in orlando I-bar is the best thing going

once again a variety depending on the night

wed is "club necropolis" night heavy industrial , very stompy
sat and sun industrial downstairs , with retro and progressive in the big room

thurs and fri are indie night , myself I don't go those nights , not my style and crazy packed

this will be going on at the I-bar in orl next wed night

this has made for some great eavenings in the past
lots of people in dress up good music

thanx for the info, im gonna attempt to make it to the castle, havent been to ybor city in about 5 years, so i imagine its changed a bit....see you all when i get back.

im from st. pete and i STILL have yet to go to Ybor castle. dammit!!!!!!

Your best bet is Ybor The Castle, Best EBM Club in Florida, I had tons of fun and sweat my ass dancing to the music. Tom Gold and DJ Paradise are house DJ and the best damn DJ in the Area.

The Castle is of course the Goth stable down here and has free cover on Saturdays for first 25 in the door. Great club with beautiful aesthetics but lacks enough musical variety for my eclectic tastes to want to go every weekend. $2 bass ales usually do the trick for me. They have a nice outdoors dance area thats nice too cool off in and shoot the shit at a level you can actually hear people in.I think Thursdays and/or Mondays is 80's night, cool videos can be seen.

You definitely want to check out a very underrated club down here called Czar's if you like a variety of music, especially 80's. Drink prices suck but no cover before 11. The decor is Russian oriented, with both commie themes and traditional Russian art. I really like coming here for dancing.
