It's far from being over...a lot of untruths have been uncovered and made public.

I did attend the first two GothCons, and before I even heard about the charity fraud, I decided not to go again. It's just a really, really shady event.
The GothCon Inquisition, now known as the GothCon Boycott, are doing the best they can to get word around about what GothCon
isn't doing with the money that supposedly went to AIDS charities....money that the promoters of GothCon are still unable to prove went anywhere other than their own pockets.
And so...the GothCon Boycott are politely contacting the hotel that GothCon is hoping to be held at, and the merchants who have bought banner space on their site, who are hoping to sell their wares at the dealer's room at the con, and letting them in on what they're getting themselves associated with.
A great deal of the online goth community knows what is going on with GothCon, and have made up their minds either way...but the shadiness, on top of it being held on Halloween weekend (if it manages to be held at all)...I'm thinking it won't have a great turn out. I know that I certainly won't be there...and not just because I'm due around that time.
Oh, and the GC Boycott has this domain, now, for more information:
